why bs6 model car engine oil level increase after few km run.
In a BS6 diesel engine equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), it's possible for the engine oil level to increase during a DPF regeneration event. This can be due to several factors:
Fuel Dilution: During the regeneration process, extra fuel is injected into the exhaust system to raise the temperature and burn off accumulated soot in the DPF. Some of this fuel can find its way into the engine's crankcase, diluting the engine oil. Fuel dilution can lead to an increase in the oil level.
Post-Injection: In some diesel engines, post-injection occurs during the regeneration process. This is when additional fuel is injected after the main combustion event to help increase exhaust temperatures. Some of this post-injected fuel may also end up in the crankcase.
Oil Vaporization and Condensation: The high temperatures generated during DPF regeneration can cause oil vaporization. When the engine cools down after the regeneration, some of this vaporized oil can condense back into liquid form, leading to an increase in the oil level.
Incomplete Regeneration: If the DPF regeneration is not completed successfully, there may be residual diesel fuel in the exhaust or DPF. This unburned fuel can make its way into the engine oil, causing an increase in the oil level.
Abnormalities in the DPF System: If there are issues or malfunctions in the DPF system, it can lead to an incomplete regeneration process, causing fuel to enter the oil.
It's important to note that a slight increase in the engine oil level during DPF regeneration is not uncommon. However, if you notice a significant and persistent increase, it could indicate a problem with the engine or the DPF system. In such cases, it's advisable to have the vehicle inspected and serviced by a qualified technician to identify and rectify any issues. Excessive fuel dilution and oil level increases can have a negative impact on engine performance and longevity.
