Every now and then, not too often, there is something on youtube that really makes it worth while. This is, certainly one of the best. No banging music or rediculous production, just a display of skill and true craftsmanship at its finest. Thank you for posting this, extremely enjoyable and entertaining.

Long ago I made a Tamiya Citroën 2cv6 , 1/24. I think it is a very good brand, very precise, everything fits perfectly and looks exactly like the real car. And I was very proud of the result. But seeing your work on this Mini, it is clear to me that there are builders and builder-experts. You must be one of the best.

I can't add anything more to the wonderful comments about your skill. I was very fortunate that my parents came to England from Nyasaland with me as a very young boy. They bought one exactly the same, both type and very similar colour. We toured through to Egypt from England and then it was shipped to Nyasaland. I then went to school in it driven by my parents! Thanks for evoking such memories.

I owned and worked on a large number of minis in the 70s and 80s and watching this film bought it all back, even down to the hinged rear no plate! The only thing your wonderful model lacks is rusty inner and outer cills and a plastic bag wrapped around the distributor to keep the water out! Absolutely wonderful...

Breathtaking, Ive had 3 of these cars and so much of it comes back to life. The seats that fall forward in a crash stop, the nearly ineffective wipers above 50 mph, the self opening rear windows at anything over 95 mph frightening the life out of everyone. I thought the boot braces would be forgotten, and the fold down number plate, but it was all there. Not sure, but I thought even this early series S would still have had twin fuel tanks and fillers, but still the most excellent Copper S Ive ever seen.

@@A4Garage Well they were 1957 Austin design, not realised until 59. I pushed my cars pretty hard and had numerous 'close ones'. But yes, no roll over protection unless like me you installed a roll bar, more worrying was side or front impact. The engine and trans would thankfully banana under the car on a front shunt. Their greatest safety asset was the directness of steering control and exceptional handling.

And the best bit is it’s not red with a Union Jack roof. A nice boring plain light teal blue that goes nicely with the chrome. Seriously excellent stuff, I’d like to see this parked up outside a period tobacconists on a patched tarmac road diorama. It would look stunning, driver’s door open , nipped in for ten park drive..
