She's such an underrated guitar player. Her fun rhythms and chords express the emotions so well.

The slide guitar and keyboard add so much to this song. And here I thought the studio version was already absolutely perfect!

THATS MY ALLTIME FAVORITE POLLY HAIRSTYLE, SUPER COOL

I love every iteration of PJ Harvey and her music, but her early songs really hit it for me. This song is so creative and melodic. I love her music. What a talented, rock babe.

If you haven't seen her live and are a fan you have to if you get the chance. She is a top grade performer and musician in studio and live. I'd say she's better and sounds better than the albums live and brings a lot of raw emotion to her performances. I hope I get the chance to catch her perform live again.

He should not be hid He's just too big In a cloud please come down I'd put stars at your feet Put Mars in your head Show yourself to me And I'd believe I'd moan and I'd weep Fall silent at your speak I'd burst in Full to the brim Mary lost her head And let it bleed Came crying back to me "My son where's he hid? Don't deny it And don't you hide him" [Chorus] No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him [Verse 2] No words No sign Mary say "I'm not lying" How come he's so big But good lord he's been hid Good lord where you hid? Ha! [Chorus] No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him No I've missed him

well, word has it that Parish is contributing to her next album, as well as the keyboard player, Eric Drew Feldman, both of whom have been absent for a while. John especially, he hadn't contributed to either of the last two albums.

yea, I adore this song and performance. The whole 98 Bizarre Fest video actually. The audio fidelity on youtube really diminishes my enjoyment of this. Or maybe it's just that this bootlegged dvd version of the performance isn't so great. Sounds much better on my copy. Anyway, my other particular faves from this performance are Electric Light, Snake, and that part in Joy when the music drops out and she screams 'NO HOPE FOR JOY!!!' in between the unrelenting hammering of guitars.

@CasinoNight Tori Amos is the epitome of fucking stagnation. Everything she has ever done is so boring and uninspired. I absolutely despise her..I don't see the fascination at all. She's at best a very pale Kate Bush knock off...or would that be more Elton John in drag? Anyway, for the love of god stop comparing the two. Polly should not have to be mentioned in the same sentence as her. Enough!
