At 2:46 when you write "df'(x)", is that intentional? Does that simply mean "f'(x)" ( == df/dx)?

I don't get why dxT*Q*x transposed equals to xT*qT*dx

They are both scalars. And a scalar is equal to its transpose. And a transpose of a product is equal to the product of transposes in the opposite order.
