I was thinking the same thing myself. Luckily we speak more about NAC (Network Accès Control) thoses days. It's like a NAS but with the option to constrains the data that a user can access.

Informative Video:). It would be helpful if you could make video of LDAP, Active Directory. Later compare all. I still have confusion about the backend of RADIUS. When i tried implementing i used with MySQL database. I also found it can be used with LDAP backend. I thought LDAP was also just a protocol. Your Input would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Security, Radius defeats MITM attacks within the network. Passwords are not transmitted in plaintext, only compared to a hash in a database. Authorisation for resources is on a per access basis.. etc

i think the encryption technology used is the choice of the server maanagers. Radius can be used by google, facebook, bank, etc

So normally google doesn't know your password. This is why u have to reset it instead of being shown like ur bank card pin number

That's where my confusion is. I set this up in a teaching lab environment and it works. AD user can connect to the wifi network through an android phone by authenticating through RADIUS. But, i am entering username AND password in the android interface in order to first send a connection request to the WAP, which then forwards my request to the RADIUS server for authentication. In that case, how is that very first connection request (step 1 in the video) encrypted? what am I missing? can't someone with wireshark still pick up that radio signal and see my username/password as it is first broadcast to the WAP?
