The film is based on a story by Chandradhar Sharma Guleri in the backdrop of Amritsar. One of the famous dialogue was " Kudiye teri kudmai ho Gayi". Some rate, including this writer, that the story was one of the finest ever like an English story "The Gift of Maggi". The film staring Sunil Dutt & Nanda was remarkable because it was based on the story under reference. Davinder Singh & Additi Mehrotra did full justice and sang with a touching voice so soothing and mellifluous rubbing shoulders with the renowned singers of yesteryears.
