I appreciate Ghamidi for presenting a non-violent version of Islam. Having said that, I haven't heard a worse representation of the Theory of Evolution in a long time. Never try to learn science from a religious scholar.

Ad Hawk islam doesn't come in versions. Its the divine guidance to humans for living in this world. You are right about not to learn science from religious scholar but it must applied vice versa and a person shouldn't learn religion from scientific people.

Contrarily I thought that he presented the idea of the theory of evolution in a modern way. I have lived for some time in Europe and in my interactions have come to a conclusion that the European general populace still believes that 'we have come from monkeys' is valid while the modern theory of evolution have moved quite significantly from the Darwinian principle-beliefs and you will find that Ghamdi is also referring to those assumptions which become bed-rock of particular scientific theory.
