Gill doesn't have the technique to be a test number 3. He is a stroke player who plays beside the line. His feet don't move towards the ball. He relies too much on his swift hands. He is no Sehwag, who also played beside the line, but had lighting fast hands. India needs a proper number 3. I don't see one in the assembly line right now. Going back to Pujara is not the solution. Jaiswal needs to lose his ego and all the hype around him. He is immensely talented. He needs to speak to a Gavaskar or a Dravid or a Shastri or even a Gambhir, to learn how to knuckle down and give the first half hour to the bowlers. Once he does that, he will score more than anybody. Virat still has fuel in his tank. He also needs to speak to a Sachin and just eschew his offside shots for a few innings. Rohit on the other hand, is done. His style of play doesn't work for a batsman who's reflexes are in decline. He needs to see this and take a decision that works for the team. He is a good man. He will do this. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.
