The key issue in this video is that the poor old maid has no one taking care of her. When we are babies, our parents take care of us as we are helpless. Then we grow old, most children abandon their parents and there is no one to help them when they are helpless. It needs to change and only we can change it.

Govt. can only help if everyone paid their taxes honestly. The rich hide their money and refuse to pay their fair share as well as everyone else who made a real estate transaction. Even with laws in place people want to circumvent them. The taxes is what is used to provide for such things. If people don't pay taxes then the govt cannot provide such benefits to those who need it the most. Every time you pay a bribe, you are helping in ensuring the poor remain behind. So stop paying bribes, take a video of those demanding bribes to get official paperwork done and report them to the police, etc. Only when you the people start taking actions such as this will the whole country be helped! If you have a mobile phone you can become part of the solution to ending bribes.

My maid is not old, I still share work with her. I do not view her as a maid, but as another human being who is less privileged than me.God has sent me an opportunity to help someone lead a little better life by working on my house.

I think its not about the sweet ending, but if a maid is too old & trembling to work, she can fall down any day, that's too risky. And if the maid won't work then there is no bread & butter. The situation is really depressing here. Also the Old Age is difficult to handle.

A very touching realistic short-film indeed ! An old ailing lady working as domestic help for a pittance, for an able-bodied woman half her age !! Such things happen only in India. Strange how such affluent women manage to do domestic chores themselves when they emigrate to developed countries like the USA or UK, where hiring such domestic help costs a lot. They manage to do so because domestic helps in India don't have any legal support, nor do they have any union to fight for their causes. Wish the govt would give some social security to people engaged in unorganized sector to get by their old age.

My maid worked for me for 14 years since my marriage. Both of her sons are engineers now. They don't want her to work. But she visits me once in a while to see how I am. I miss her so much. I could not get a maid like her again. She is like a family member for me. This is true with the maids earlier but not now. The maids I get now are so commercial that I don't feel like even talking to them. They just work for money. No emotions at all.
