Govt. can only help if everyone paid their taxes honestly. The rich hide their money and refuse to pay their fair share as well as everyone else who made a real estate transaction. Even with laws in place people want to circumvent them. The taxes is what is used to provide for such things. If people don't pay taxes then the govt cannot provide such benefits to those who need it the most. Every time you pay a bribe, you are helping in ensuring the poor remain behind. So stop paying bribes, take a video of those demanding bribes to get official paperwork done and report them to the police, etc. Only when you the people start taking actions such as this will the whole country be helped! If you have a mobile phone you can become part of the solution to ending bribes.

Emotional Story but happens to many maids. Maids should be treated as a member of the family especially if they stay for long years. They must be given increment every year as also bonus. And medical insurance is a must. My maid is a woman of substance. Though widowed, she had educated her sons without taking any loans. One son is an engineer and got a good job on merit. The other son is also doing well. But she does not want to quit her job though getting aged. She has taken a life insurance as also medical insurance and does not want to depend on her boys. On my part, I keep advising her to save money so that she can live comfortably on a pension. She is almost part of my family and takes good care of us. And when maids quit after a long service, it is our duty as employers to give them a retirement benefit.
