Virat has been having this problem throughout his career coz of his batting stance, but he was able to negate that disadvantage with his legendary skills, reflexes and hand to eye coordination. With age his reflexes have deteriorated big time and he is not able to perform anymore. No matter how much he keeps himself away from his favorite butter chicken for his physique he must focus on his reflexes and train a lot. I think you are right sir, its all about mentality. If we observe successful teams then they have atleast 2-3 proper test players but in India it has become business so they choose players with face value. Gill doesn’t look fit at number 3, Yashashvi needs to learn how to play with patience at least at the start and for Rohit and Kohli, they have done great service but now it feels their time has come we can’t afford to keep loosing series. And when we took 2nd new ball , their 3-4 wickets fall early ..... Happy if a young team plays and fails like this but not seniors. If young players even fail, at least we are building a team for the future in this process, and young players will learn how to handle pressure. There's no benefit of lugging senior players along, while they fail miserably and the team keeps losing.
