Tamil language had different types of "L" sounds english letters doesn't give that sounds properly. Tamizh and Tamil both are same and both gives the same sounds. To bring the proper sounds of "L" we use zh. Zh = L sound. When you pronounce it L your tongue should touch upper part of inner mouth. TAMIL has three types of L sound.
