I have just discovered Bill Alexander a couple of days ago, after priodically watching Bob Ross for over 25 years, and just discovered in Bill the artist I would like to be. What a character, what an artist and what a joy in watching him paint. How sad thatthis teacher is nt on tv........he is in a different league. I am enjoying seeing

bill is a great painter, better than bob ross for sure..BUT, bob ross painting show wasn't really about painting, bob helped people relax, bob was gentle, soft spoken and listening/watching his is like taking tranquilizers.. bob connected with people thru painting but his real talent was helping people relax, thats why bob is so popular, bill is loud, intense, agressive, its hard to watch a lot of that, its kinda distrubriung and causes stress, bob is the exact opposite...lol bobs show wasn't about painting it was about helping remove stress and anxiety from people..
@thaliaaeder14958 ай бұрын
@westoftherockies aggressive definition is: ready or likely to attack or confront; characterized by or resulting from aggression. "he's very uncooperative and aggressive" I found Bill rambunctious, happy, but not aggressive. Do you think he is aggressive, per the definition?
@rewired11088 ай бұрын
@@thaliaaeder1495 I agree with you. He exhibits complete exuberance and clearly this was his modus operandi. I suspect he wanted to share his love for creative painting.

There is a history here, perhaps not all that great. His student Bob Ross, basically betrayed the knowledge and skill that Bill taught him. Ross tried to claim this technique as his own creation. The name of Ross to me is that of a fake. This man was the original and the Master. I won't buy any materials for my paintings with Ross on it. When I was a teen, I watched him a lot. Always. I knew I could paint, he made me feel it was in my DNA.

Series 1 episode 1 of the magic of painting Bob acknowledged Bill as his teacher and even had him guest on his show i believe. Bill spent his life teaching people and encouraging them to paint in his style. Bob was just one of these. Because he became very successful at doing it did not make him a thief. Unfortunately success attracts greedy morally questionable people. Bob left his tv series without even having ownership of his own paintings, who was the real thief? Bill was a great person and fantastic artist, but also had an ego, i think later in life he became a little bitter of Bob's success. He felt as the originator of the style he deserved to be at least as well known as Bob. Between both artists, they must have encouraged millions of people to take up art, and that has to be a good thing. I believe the world is big enough for all to have their place. Personally i loved both artists, and their different approaches to art. Everyone is unique in their own way, just as the art they create is.

Good evening artlovers, thanks to KZbin we can have Bill in Belgium...every evening around midnight a new painting. Thank you for posting!! Mr. Alexander ... there are no words for your sublime teaching method, your talent and the positive vibrations you (still) spread out, a true joy... danke schön !! The kind of person that I admire (beyond their artscraft, read: their personality) and would have loved to have a talk, a coffee with: Bill and Michael (yes MJ)...may they Fire In, moonwalking in heaven. And now and now, ve vill ve vill watch 1.15minutes 🎨. Bill does not make me want to go to sleep, he makes me want to grab a brush, paint and work the walls of my bedroom. What a force that man has but as well what a knowledge. Thank you Wilhelm!! Greetings from Europe !

Bill is still with us today. Thank God for these videos. I work on a graveyard shift and listen to his videos alot over night. He's half of the reason I paint today. That and my grandmother's Impressionist landscapes from 1910. I always wanted to paint. I knew I could, although I had a lot of problems with wearing the paint. I would sit with my brother in law and watch his series on pbs.
