It’s crazy how talented and amazing her 3 albums were and she was only a teenager/young adult. I can’t imagine how iconic and huge she would have gotten if she didn’t pass away. The world was robbed of getting more of her artistry that’s for sure. One of the best female R&B artists of all time.

Maaan we lost this R&B queen waaay too early in her career. She put out this banger at the beginning of her peak. Imagine the things she could have done if she would have lived longer! RIP Aaliyah. You forever remain heavy on my music rotation!

They never released it as a single so it couldn’t chart on the Hot 100 at the time. They finally released it as an actual single much later and it still managed to go Top 30. Had they released it as a single earlier, it would’ve been her first #1 single for sure.

It would’ve hit number 1 in the summer of 98 if billboard allowed radio airplay only singles on the charts. By the time it was allowed to chart later that year, it debut at #21 on the charts, 6 months after the song hit it’s peak in popularity. Her label is so trash, she deserved so much better
