I don't consider Aaliyah a legend or queen, sadly she wasn't around long enough to get the title.....I do consider her a veteran to the evolution of R&B, artist like Mary J blige, TLC, SWV, Lauryn hill, and Aaliyah all altered the sound of R&B. Aaliyah was and is still a veteran of Hip-hop & R&B... and should be respected as such, I don't like it when people compare and bash her, you may not be a fan of her or her voice, that's fine!!.. but don't knock her music or her contributions to R&B.. Im not the biggest fan of beyonce but I don't knock her longevity in the industry, her voice can be a bit much for me but she can still sing. De Vona Lang I read about Aaliyah learning the song in Italian and I hoped her family released it. Just stunningly beautiful, this young woman would have been on top of them all. It wasn't until later in the 2000's (2004) did everybody try to go over the edge with performance and dance. In 2009, One Michael Jackson died, everyone wanted to put on these epic performances. Aaliyah was great for her time, and age.
