एक आलसी दोपहर में, एक बूढ़े नीम की छाँव में जो नक्शे में भी ना मिले, उस छोटे से गाँव में मेरे दादा मुझसे कह रहे थे कि बेटा कुछ क़ानून है जितनी तरह के बंदे दिखते, उतनी तरह के खून हैं उतनी तरह के क़िस्से हैं हर बंदे के हर घाव में एक आलसी दोपहर में, एक बूढ़े नीम की छाँव में एक सिपाही के चर्चे सुन रह गया था दंग मैं उसने मार गिराए थे ना जाने कितने जंग में गाँव में जब वो लौटा था तो खड्डा था एक आँख में पर सारे यही पूछ रहे थे, “कितने मिलाए राख में?” किसी ने उसका हाल ना पूछा, ऐसे ही सब घर गए फ़ौजी को यूँ लगा कि जैसे वो सारे भी मर गए उसने अपनी माँ से कहा, “कर डाले मैंने पाप कई जो चाहे इसे नाम दो, मैंने छीने बेटे-बाप कई ये सब सोच-सोच कर मेरी तो आँखें नम होती हैं क्या अजनबियों की जान की क़ीमत अपनों से कम होती है?” और फिर पानी भरता गया, उस छेद से उस नाव में एक आलसी दोपहर में, एक बूढ़े नीम की छाँव में फिर कहा उन्होंने, “एक गाँव में थी पानी की टंकी उस टंकी को लेकर थी बेटा बहुत बड़ी नौटंकी एक जात के भरते पानी, एक के खड़े देखते रहते और उनके घड़े अछूत दूर से पड़े देखते रहते वो औरतें घंटों इंतज़ार कर ख़ाली-हाथ घर जाती वो औरतें घंटों इंतज़ार कर ख़ाली-हाथ घर जाती क्योंकि ऊँची जात की औरतें ही टंकी ख़ाली कर जाती मैंने देखा होती जात खून और पानी और घड़ों की बस जात नहीं होती दुनिया में पैसों और झगड़ों की कहूँ गाँव का नाम तो लोग वहाँ के फिर शर्मिंदा होंगे पर शर्मिंदा तो तब होंगे जब असल में ज़िंदा होंगे पर शर्मिंदा तो तब होंगे जब असल में ज़िंदा होंगे” इंसाँ बह रहा जाति-धर्म के गंदे नाले के बहाव में एक आलसी दोपहर में, एक बूढ़े नीम की छाँव में जो नक्शे में भी ना मिले, उस छोटे से गाँव में

Rahgir bhai, i have heard purana version of this song as well which is very near to my heart but let me give you my honest feedback, this upgraded version touches the soul in such a way that no one can describe. I understand your father being an army man himself(not a lot of fans know about it), how important the lyrics of this song must have meant for you as you have lived those situations around you. The vocals, along with soulful lyrics depicts the reality of practical life with brutal honesty.
