Shiftings has always been very chaotic and haphazard for my family. My parents never really plan and thought out the process , first few nights without pankhas , without beds, sleeping on mattresses and the kitchen is a disaster by it self for at least a month. That’s very turamatic as a child and i have always hated that experience ( we have atleast shifted 7 times in the span of 10 years) . This video gave me comfort and useful skill that i will use to In sha Allah get settled into my own home one day ❤

Aamna, congratulations on relocating and settling in, Allahuma Barik. The order in which you gave tips was perfect; the flow of this video was so smooth and insightful. I'm impressed how you were not even looking back at your notes; all the advice was coming straight from your heart. Loved how you shared before and afters of the renovations. Would you be able to share where your living room furniture is all from? I honestly loved that hand painted wall which your relative did in your previous home (the famous wall I think Hassan would sit by). I think I will miss that sight in SH's reviews. Do you plan on getting custom painting/mural done in this home too?

Very nice vlog Amina. I have recently shifted to my new home in Adelaide. Apart from all other areas, I needed to update my address for most of the institutes, banks, medical contacts, online delivery, govt bodies (election commission data) etc. This may also be important.

I’ve worked and lived on three continents, moving very frequently, even within those continents, and each time I thought it is the last move! I think I have one more move to downsize to a manageable place which will allow me the freedom to lock up and go on my travels instead of having the encumbrances of a huge home to worry about! each move is emotionally and physically draining, and in my case it’s saying goodbye to people whom I came to love and cherish as ‘family’! I’ve got my local and international moves right down to the T,so at least there is a method to my madness in the move!🤣🤣🤣 I’ve enjoyed listening to Aamna’s inputs and also saw the room she uses for the something haute programme take shape! So thank you Aamna., may you have joy and peace in your new abode! Yes it’s very trying to settle in cats, ( apparently dogs are easier as they are sue to going out for walks etc);and my ones also didn’t eat and hid, to a point where I though they may have run away! However once they get over the few days sometimes weeks adjusting to their new home, they are amazing at exploring it , and find their own energy which they bring into your home!😻

Aamna, I have been watching all your videos since 2019 on SH. You travel abroad atleast once a year and have a good lifestyle. You can afford house staff and both your kids live abroad too. So I hope you don't feel hurt by my question but I really wanna ask you why you don't buy a house of your own ? What's stopping you from it ? You know you will always live in Karachi because of your work, and you do like a big house and not an apartment so why haven't you bought a house or buy a land and construct as per your liking yet?

I usually don’t comment but I have to say the things you mentioned before moving and after moving is absolutely right and recommended either you are renting the house or buying the house and also budget is the major key you have to have a 1 year payment in-hand incase you lost your job or for any reasons you can’t work. I am glad you shared those points and looking forward to seeing your house tour video 😉

Hi Amna, hope you're well. Thank you for the tips. I watch dramas and see how there is a lack of understanding of how to do resuscitation of a person if they suddenly pass out. Could you mention this is your reviews that it is so important to highlight the steps of CPR and how to administer medicine after an anaphylactic attack. Thanks

I like your house MashaAllah! Stay blessed. I have moved so many times in my life amna its actually traumatizing! Cities! Countries back and forth! I have actually developed travel anxiety. Anyways was great to hear your thoughts. Glad you didn't have to leave any of your favourite stuff because when you move countries you need to leave lots of stuff. But that's life! Alhamdulillah
The vlog is enjoyable, though not entirely relatable, as some comments suggest. The most satisfying aspect of moving, for me, is the decluttering process. It brings happiness, satisfaction, and peace. However, the overall shifting ordeal is a constant nightmare, taking at least three months to settle in, which can be quite challenging. 😢

It's so difficult to find a place where we feel comfortable.then packing and unpacking..but good thing is clearing up. I also discard so many things while packing. And. One more thing I learned over the years to keep minimum things if we don't have our own house, it will also help in moving from one place to another.

Here in rawalpindi water is also a big issue and we had to move out of a house because of it. Read it all keeping in mind that i belong to a middle class family. Also, most of the things that Amna mentioned can be done staying in your budget or you can say that these HAVE to be done afterall.

Congrats on the move . Hope it blesses you in most positive manner now and ongoing . I have a qs / comment . I live in the west so I get a bit curious that as rental spending in infrastructure of the home is actually not most sensible financial decision. Investing in your property u will see return . But in a rental u just helped the landlord in paying for updates . At most rentals here where I have to be returned in the state they were leased out . At best ppl paint to their liking but nothing more as it’s just a rental . It’s not suppose to be long term stay .
