Omg! I remember back in the 90s on the original version on GB when I was in grade school I accidentally did this glitch that freaked out the screen. It was a hole filled version of those occasional old Mario (vertical) screens, and it would send to various random spots. I didn't know how to make it happen purposely then, but would try to explore as much of the glitch room(s) as I could. It's actually pretty dope how some of the other old glitches like the Bow Wow skip still work.

Really surprised they programmed this game in a way that allows for walking on top of trees. Also interesting to see the skips that come about when a 2D game is remade in 3 dimensions.

I assume you're able to walk on top of objects because it's a required mechanic in Eagles Tower with the colored switches. Still a bit strange that it works for other objects, and honestly it might have been a way for them to just need to program object collision generically and use it for all the trees, walls, and other obstacles.

Yo, if you ever go to college, don't forget that you can glitch the algorithm that determines the amount of money you owe in student debt by placing an office chair on top of a desk, standing in it, and spinning! The developers never intended for you to do this and for some reason, spinning while your Y coordinate is so high up compared to the floor causes an overflow and a jump in memory that messes with the values that determine your cost of tuition. Try it!

There's also a glitch in most libraries. If you shimmy against a bookshelf, physics get confused with you touching so many physics objects at once that you can clip through the bookshelf and any adjacent walls to the other side! I don't recommend this one though as there's a chance you could end up in the BackRooms with no way out.

It’s really not just a slightly worse flu. It’s much more infectious than the flu and is new, so it doesn’t have a vaccine or anything like the flu. Additionally, symptoms become noticeable only after the virus has infected some of your body, letting victims still infect others while not knowing that they have the virus. It also lasts much longer-a few weeks, maybe more, maybe less with worse conditions, such as a fever of 103-104, nausea, shortness of breath, and a terrible sore throat. So yeah, it really isn’t a slightly worse flu.

So, when I played through Link's Awakening DX, I thought you were supposed to walk on top of the orange and blue panels that are triggered by the crystal switches to get to other areas. This was the first time I ever played Link's Awakening, so I thought it was a normal mechanic of the game. Cool to see that it's a glitch, or at least part of one.

Hey A+Start, are you okay? It might just be me but it sounds like you’re straining your voice to be louder or peppier. You can really tell this in the first glitch segment where you change from strained peppy voice to normal with the line “why not”. Personally it sounds too strained or forced and I prefer the more normal voice delivery.

It’s pretty neat that some of these exploits-most notably, getting atop the trees-were made into intended gameplay mechanics in Echoes. After BotW and Tears, the development philosophy very much seems to be about giving you as a player general tools that can be combined in powerful ways, and letting you explore and solve puzzles in ways the team could never have foreseen.

I've seen a so many speedruns at this point, that I'm willing to come out and say that I whole-heartedly believe game developers intentionally DON'T skip proof their games so that speedrunning can remain a thing. I mean making the waterfall have no collision just because it's "supposedly" inaccessible is just lazy. Someone made the conscious decision to not put collision there. Just like trees, and walls, and all other "3D" elements in this game. All those "3D" objects could easily have been made with hitboxes that extended to the sky so Link wouldn't be able to stand on them, but they weren't. Gotta be a conspiracy.

Wow, all dungeons other than the first dungeon are all skippable (or at least, gaining access to the entrance can be skipped). Also another way to escape the softlock on the final boss's is by playing Manbo's Mambo. I mean Nintendo wouldn't disable the player's ability to warp to the entrance of the dungeon, as many phases of the Nightmare boss require weapons that have limited ammo (Phase 1: Giant Zol requires the magic powder, and last phase: DethI, which requires arrows), which means it is possible to get stuck (by running out of magic powder and arrows) and *truly* have to reset if that ability to warp is removed.

Ever wonder why those dodongo snakes miniboss (first appeared in Dungeon 3: Key Cavern)'s rooms never locked you in (there are exits in the room that have no doors)? This is also to fix that problem where if the player run out of bombs, they'll would've reset the game. Each only need 3 bombs, so make sure you have at least 6 prior entering.

Slime eel skip : the timing to grab the bomb is a bit tricky since it depends on which frame you dropped the bomb on. You need to grab the bomb when the hookshot is aboit to land on link's head.
