This song made me very nostalgic and emotional...i was a little girl..new in Dadar mbi...this song would play on the radio and for sm reason I used to wait for this song to learn it by-heart! Rahul... 👏👏👏 What a nice way to give tribute to a great singer of our times on his 97th birth anniversary (24th Dec 1924). It is a celebration of his singing for all of us!!! Thanks 🙏 I will never forget when in an interview Hema Malini ji confessed that she actually fell in love with Dharmendra ji (first crush) when she saw him on the screen singing this song on piano in the movie "बहारें फ़िर भी आयेंगी" released in 1966 or 67. There is a subtle naughtiness in the voice whenever he says 'आपकी निगाह ने' so beautifully captured by Rafi sahab in this song. As you said... probably Rafi sahab has added many colors of his own (like when he says 'सुबह-सुबह', 'तड़प रही', 'आप ही' or 'जिधर नज़र मुड़ी', 'शबाब आप का', 'किसी में ये कशिश') on this brilliant canvas. What a beautiful composition... and who will not fall in love as you said it is an out & out romantic composition! Rahul... beautiful rendering of the song by you in your soft & lovely voice with each word expressed so clearly to bring out the deep love for the person in your thoughts 😀. One of my all time favorites... Enjoyed it thoroughly 👌 Amongst many trivias associated with the song here is one... “Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi” lay unfinished until Dharmendra stepped in to finance the movie and play the role originally played by Guru Dutt. The scenes involving Guru Dutt were reshot. Incidentally, SD Burman had been selected as the original composer for the movie. When he suffered a heart attack and required a lengthy recovery, Guru Dutt replaced him with OP Nayyar. Apparently, SD had originally composed the tune for “Yeh dil na hota bechara” for “Baharen…” but it was reused by Dev Anand for Jewel Thief. Sorry for this long comment!!!

I like to read the minds of Rahul's fans. Yes I like him, his voice, his choice of songs, the tempo in which he delivers & lastly his thoughts and so I feel connected. I always believed in doing some research whenever commenting on Rahul's posts especially when it is a long one and informative. Rahul takes so much effort in recording and sharing his renderings and then sharing his heart out with us. Then he reads all the comments and makes an effort to reply.
