Its nice to have a practice and qualifying option and also having the option to increase the length of the race, instead of having to 'fight' your way through from midpack in only 2 laps

I really enjoyed this game when I bought it. If I were to add something u to the cons, there are two (or three): no pitstops, there only like 8 teams (or more, can't remember) across pretty much the whole game and only one team (i.e. Ravenwest) is being the best in everything, not one or the other.

The AI doesn't break too early, the player car just has stronger brakes. Usually in racing games they give you a slight acceleration advantage(because you're meant to win all the time), here they give you better brakes, so that most of the passing happens in the corners and not on the straightaways.

I bought this game and played it for hours and for me it has some strong connections to sim racing even though it is a GRID game. It has its flaws like the fact that you can only use H shifter or paddle shifter not both, and it could have just a little improvement on AI. Until now those are my only complains. So I do recommend it. Great review from @aarava and great driving also. Just subscribed.

YES! you should buy this game. If you think Dirt 2 and 3 were awesome then its a pretty safe bet that you will love Autosport. Autosport is as good if not better than Dirt 2 and 3. Do us a video of you racing at Spa using the Honda HSV-010 GT. (cockpit view) That car, on that track, blew my mind. I actually think this game gets more right physics wise than GT6. GT6 has a fantastic suspension model, but that's about it. Autosport simulates loosing, and fighting to regaining traction far more accurately than GT6 does. Cars in gt6 feel like spinning toys when you loose it on a bend. The car dynamics are totally off in gt6. This game actually makes you feel like you're driving, GT6 doesn't. The Audi R8 LMS in gt6 is absolute garbage, sounds bad, feels bad, and feels nothing like driving an actual car. Same car in Autosport is a million times more convincing.

***** OFF! all aids off. use cockpit view and change gear manually. Only takes a few laps for you to learn how to change gears yourself. Many have slated this title and not given it a chance. But i spent a long time with it and the physics are actually really great. Countering over steer is great fun once you learn the physics of the game. If you have a racing wheel then visit insidesimracing on you tube, they did a review of this game and have some good wheel settings. They also liked this game, And that says a lot because those guys usually don't like any console racing titles all that much.

AESCULAPTORmark3 You should probably leave ABS on in most cases. Most of the cars in this game have ABS irl. And if you adjust the race length it soon gets tiring to pump the brakes all the time like you're driving a car from 30 years ago.

Frikgeek I thing that many race cars also use Traction control as well, irl, but that would remove the fun of countering the power over steer. But you are correct and i agree, ABS is probably the best way to go in most if not all racing games. Specially if you're using pedals rather than a pad.I'm still loving this title and play it most nights. Codies created a great tyre model for this game.

AESCULAPTORmark3 Eh, Traction control is actually banned in most motorsports, but even then you'd probably be slower with traction control on as it reduces cornering speeds and only cuts the power when your wheels start to spin. You can't do things like fixing understeer with power or turn with the throttle, letting the car slide to the outside with a low slip angle. Techniques like that are useful for overtaking or simply manoeuvring in mid-pack.

Frikgeek GT3 cars all use T,C, And F-1 have used it in the past. Plus i've read that F1 teams are trying to achieve similar effects tc delivers by using the engine control unit and engine torque mapping. In F1 the FIA have in the past admitted that it was difficult to even know if teams were using T,C, or not. I know i read it somewhere about GT and LMP cars having used Traction control in the past. Not sure if they are using it now though. But i do agree with everything you said in your comment about power over steer being useful. Its also lots fun as well, :-)Its the reason i don't think i'm going to enjoy project cars when it comes out. The GT3 cars in that game look like they are glued to the track and also look like they massively under steer. It looks like its impossible to fix the under steer with power or turn with the throttle in project cars. :-(

i think a lot of people are kind of stupid with grid 1. it was awesome, grid 2 was shit. people want it like grid 1 but different, but its not very easy to mess with perfection. if you love grid 1 but want next gen graphics, this is the game for you.

Agreed. Grid 1 with a wheel (I had the Microsoft Xbox 360 Force Feedback Wheel, now I have a Fanatec CSR) was terrible. If this game doesn't have well defined wheel support then all the flashy flash flash is not worth it when there are games like Forza and F1.

6:43 So true and annoying! Codemaster had better AI in Dirt 3 in Rally Cross Mode. They were activ and attack you but only it they can pass you most of the time without hitting your car.

Grid was originally TOCA/ Race Driver. Grid 1 Kept Race driver in it. Now it's basically rebranded as Grid, Just like the Colin McRae Series is now DiRT. So It's a real shame that it does not have TOCA/ Race Driver on it. Also, THERE IS'NT MOTION BLUR IN 50 MP/H!! Codemasters did a horrid job of the cockpit, And this game call itself a Return to TOCA/ Race Driver games xD. It has the same game engine as Grid 2, I can't do pitstops, so pure sim experiences are inpossible, And sadly, They don't have any weird races here! (truck racing/ Ice racing) They can't even include a simple Rally part of the game! (since DiRT Showdown was a major Arcade game). This Should've just been an DLC to Grid 2. A conplete cash grab this game is.

It's a lot like F1 2013 (comparing to GRID open-wheelers), in f1 2013, you really chuck the car into corners and have good sensitive control of where the car goes, it's a lot like that, for the touring cars and other normal cars, it's hard to compare to an f1 game so sorry, hope that sort of helps.

Cockpit blur is made on purpose cuz they are too lazy to make proper, nice looking cockpit... if you turn the blur off (there is a mod for it), you will see how textures are fucked up...

StruttinAmphy Shift 2 is one of the greatest racing games on pc,there is some inpuit lag that can drive some pepole away,but the amount of cars and tracks and the balance between simulation and arcade make it great.

I played Shift 1 & 2 on 360 back in the day, and I own Shift 2 on PC. For whatever reason, personally, Shift 2 felt like a massive downgrade in comparison to the first. The physics were even more floaty and unpredictable, and there was massive input lag (Talking .5-.75 seconds) on the consoles. That sort of issue is unacceptable for a console game, especially a racer. I actually really enjoyed the first Shift, and had some top leaderboard results. I just couldn't capture the second one as well as I did the first.
