Do you guys ever leave some of the old growth WRC for habitat? Down here in Oregon on federal ground those big hogs are left for wildlife trees. Not a tree hugger, have almost 50 years of wood work in and still going.

they dont run properly when they are in the three , it chokes the saw . thats why you see the faller keep pulling the saw out to get some clean air .

Retired faller here. Not many timber fallers out there that would even have a clue how to fall that monstrosity of a tree. They wouldn’t know where to start and where to finish. Old growth cedar is a nightmare to deal with. Very experienced faller right there. And…the saw is a hot rod
