Stat muse says they were 20th. Also the Lions score a ton of points. Giving up late TD's and yards when the game is out of reach doesn't matter. This season they had a lot of injuries to their top palyers on defense and still were a competetive defense. You don't need a great Def coordinator when you simply roll out an uber talented defense. It is when you are light on talent, what can you do that shows how good the coach is

The Jets Defense stunk his first year. Then they added ALOT of talent and the Defense got better the next two years. This season they lost run stoppers in the middle and the defense regressed. Saleh had a system and players that fit his system. When he doesn't have the talent, they don't do very well. The Jets got run on with ease form Snap one this season

Not sure how this would be a better hire than what they had in Saleh! Unless Glen turns out to be great at making organization wide culture shift, I think Saleh had a better defensive resume to begin with. ESPN's choregraphed pom poms will start for Glen and every one of their analysts will say that this is the best hire. Time will tell.
