@@obiedonald3652 Yeah we looked at the numbers. No one has Ohtani's numbers. Judge can never pitch a 2.33 ERA with 219 strikeouts and Verlander can never bat .273 with 160 hits and 34 homeruns (46 homeruns last year). Shohei is the only one on the planet that can do both.

Why Shohei hasn’t been that great of a player if any at all. Aaron judge deserves the credit because he is the best in the business today. According to my sources John Middleton plans on signing Aaron Judge to a massive contract line over 12 years worth about $330 million to play with the Phillies now that Bryce Harper is out with that elbow injury for quite a while.

I have great respect for Judge, who is an outstanding player. But Ohtani was every bit as deserving of this award and a strong case can be made he was the MOST deserving. The guy was an outstanding everyday player PLUS won 15 games as a starting pitcher. The guy achieved something not done since the days of Babe Ruth ninety years ago. Practically NOBODY does both, especially at that level of proficiency. A total joke that he only received a couple of first place votes.

Altuve deserved the 2017. Judge had a great year also, but Altuve hit almost .350 with 24 homers, 32 steals, 112 runs, 80+ RBIs from the leadoff spot while playing gold glove level defense at a premium position compiling 7.8 WAR. Judge was great also with 52 Homers, 128 Runs 114 RBIs and a 7.2 WAR, but there is a reason 27 of 30 voters voted for Altuve for first place. He had a better year period. This year Judge put up a WAR over 10. It's a no brainer this year.

It’s easy to be an MVP if you’re on the Yankees. Cuz we all know east coast bias is real and all those writers get kickbacks from the Yankees. Real MVP is Ohtani. 30+ hrs, sub 3 era, 15 wins (should have had at least 18 if he wasn’t on the angels). They keep knocking on Ohtani because he’s on the a bad team. If he was ok a good team…he’d have even better numbers. What did judge do? He knocked in 121 RBIs. Wow what an accomplishment - even tho someone in each league does it every year. The biggest concern is whether Aaron Judge can continue to win the MVP award next year, not just this year. This year, by a wide margin, Judge won the MVP award. If he had won by a smaller margin, there was a chance that Ohtani would win the MVP award next year, but since he won by a large margin, there is a very good chance that Judge will win the award again next year.

Judge was the obvious and slam dunk MVP. Otani's numbers were much less "valuable" in a TEAM sense. Judge literally carried the Yankees to the division title. He was THE offense for the last three months of the season. Stanton got his All-Star Game home run, was hurt, and didn't hit a lick until the final week of the season. Hicks was horrible. Donaldson was horrible. Rizzo was hurt. IKF wasn't helping. Torres was clueless for more than a month. Carpenter was hurt. The bullpen imploded. The starters were inconsistent. You can go on and on. Judge carried his team. Most. Valuable. Player.
