Yankee Legend in the making 🗽
@pinstripedynasty61172 жыл бұрын
Yes he is!! You worded it exactly right "in the making" I love to hear it but I am getting tired of these people already calling him a Yankee Legend that is disrespectful to the Legends that have played full careers, won multiple awards and won multiple championships in Pinstripes. To them he has practically done nothing yet. I'm talking Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Joe D, Mantle, Dickey, Yogi, Elston, Whitey, Ruffing, Rivera, Bernie, Jeter etc etc. It's on him and his body to become one and he may even pass some greats along the way because he is definately moving in the right direction. He is my favorite player on my home town team I have watched since 1995 so I say that with the upmost respect but this is The New York Yankees not the orioles or blue jays it takes more than a ROTY, HRD champ and a couple ALCS exits to be a New York Yankee Legend but he will get there.

No way to know. Its not like being good at baseball in college means you'll be good in pro ball, let alone MLB, and hitting major league pitching is a skill that doesn't have a parallel in football. No matter how great the athlete, you still need to be able to recognize the speed, location, type, movement of each pitch you face. And you have milliseconds to do it.

Two observations: (1) David Cone's thoughtful questions to Judge come from his core as a player. He can identify with the deeper issues these athletes have to face daily above and beyond hitting the ball and running the bases. His line of questioning brings out Judge's thoughts a whole lot better than those pathetic sports J-school pukes who clamor for sweaty post-game interviews that are ill-prepared and ineptly phrased. (2) Judge's maturity is to marvel at. His answers never focus on himself, but what he can do for the team to make it more productive and successful. The giddy praise from the media is tempered by his grounding in reality, and his quiet composure keeps him away from sliding into personal gloating and prediction-making. Both men are true champions of the game.
