I LOVE that at 2:01 you can see her eyes retract a bit after aaron says "I'll give you everything." Like, up to that point she was maybe considering it, but he absolutely loses her the moment he offers up "everything." If you have "everything," what else is there? Having everything is boring. Villanelle knows that and she mockingly turns to Eve with a "wow, did you hear that? Everything!" as if joking how that is suppose to appeal to her when in fact that's one of the most boring things she can imagine.
@veronicaviolet33984 жыл бұрын
I always interpreted "everything" to mean love. Earlier in the season Villanelle askes Eve if she would give her everything, to which Eve replied yes and Villanelle looked happy/excited. Here Aaron is offering her great food and clothes and apartments etc. All things that do excite Villanelle but once he mentions "everything" like you said he loses her. He can't give her love, not the kind she's attracted to. And even then it's not the same love that Eve gives. When she turns to Eve it cause here this man is trying to offer her "everything" when the one woman who can is standing right there. One of many inside jokes that She understands but Eve is oblivious too.

I personally think she was going to take the deal it wasn’t until he tried to get her to kill Eve that turned to a dealbreaker
@liv0003 Жыл бұрын
@@vesperrose333no she clearly wasn't , she doesn't like Aaron at all, she doesn't like being trapped either ,she likes freedom , she doesn't like people bossing her around like Aaron does, plus she's attracted to and in love/obsessed with Eve and she clearly doesn't like men sexually and romantically anyway. In my opinion she never for a second considered Aron's offer, she just wanted to scare and thrill Eve like she always does. She planned to kill Aaron and be alone with Eve even before leaving for Rome, it's very clear if you pay attention to the dialogue she has with Constantin before leaving. In fact she uses the word "gentleman" not because she was in danger (because she wasn't at all) but because she wants Eve to come to her, she wants to kill Aaron in front of her and then run away with her.

@@triofan9I'm probably gonna get dragged for this, but I think Sandra Oh's acting is often too extra; especially in this series. I wondered at times if her over-acting was the result of her ego competing with the more interesting character of Villanelle and Jodie's undeniably brilliant performances and popular reception. It often seemed like Sandra was trying to make the character of Eve as interesting as Villanelle; even when it didn't make sense. Also, it did not seem organic in any way when she attempted British humor or tried to deliver British expressions. I understand the fan base is behind her, but I think another solid actor could have been paired with Jodie and produced a similar or stronger following. Even in interviews, Sandra Oh seems quite full of herself, and her explanations of her "process" are a bit eye-rolling. If destiny exists, Jodie was destined to be the star of "Killing Eve". Maya Rudolph was the first to be offered the role of Eve and turned it down for family reasons. I'm not going to argue that Maya Rudolph would have been better than Sandra Oh, but I stand by my assertion that any solid actor alongside Jodie Comer's Villanelle would have created a similar ship following.

@@Jumbaride I completely agree with you and I think you said it perfectly. I actually felt this way for most of the series. Jodie’s acting really shines and in contrast, Sandra Oh seems out of place and it’s largely because of these comical, overly exaggerated expressions. Sometimes I was taken completely out of a scene because of her acting. I didn’t know that Maya Rudolph turned down the role that’s really fascinating. I really wonder what it would have looked like had she been Eve instead
@Jumbaride Жыл бұрын
@@triofan9 Me too! Maya Rudolph seems to have very little ego, which is why I think she may have embraced the character of Eve for who she was intended to be. I have an idea that could open the door to a Jodie/Maya or Jodie/Someone Else pairing. Want to hear it?
