Arod is a good coordinator. He needs to be better but don’t harass him. What do you want to do? Fire him two games in? That really would ruin the season. Wait till the end of the season and then you can call for a firing.
@JacobCall-vs1uw6 күн бұрын
I was calling for him to be fired all of last season. Better to start rebuilding sooner than later. If we play how we did last week we won’t win another game.

the answer is YES. if the BYU twitter (and youtube) dorks had their way, this man would lose his job -- immediately. sidenote: they would absolutely find some other new subject where they think they're experts to moan and bellyache about.

So tired of all the "fire ARod" talk. Not every game is going to be an offensive masterpiece, and you have to give a good defense some credit. Jake is talented and it shows, but he's also still maturing and he'll learn from his mistakes. I think we'll see better offensive execution in the weeks to come.

Jake is talented, but we have a relatively small sample size. What we don’t have a small sample size of is trash play calling, route combos that make little sense, unimaginative schemes, and general offensive incompetence. That stems from the OC. We’ve seen multiple qb changes and the incompetence continues because of who is in charge.

A-rod hasn't had an offensive masterclass in two years. His play calling is sketchy (and has been since his days at Utah). He was fired by Utah for being no good, think about that Utah who isn't known as an offensive power fired him for incompetence. ARod was bailed out by Wilson and Hall but has shown that he's not a P4 coordinator.

@@brandonl2555 Perfect example of routes that don't make sense was that 3rd and 7 at the end of the game. He said they wanted Roberts on the slant. Then why did they motion Davis out? That pulled the linebacker over, which is what put him in possession to cut the slant route! If you want the slant and Chase is soloed up outside don't motion to bring players to him, and if you do motion, you have to do something with the motion man to take his defender out of the play, not keep him behind the line where the linebacker now has to sit where you don't want him. 🙄

We aren’t expecting a masterpiece. We are expecting better than a masterpiece of dog shit though

@@jeffreyhoki137 that’s funny, I was thinking of that exact play. It’s not the only though. The combos often don’t make sense. He has no concept of creating space and getting the ball to playmakers in space. In fact a lot of times, when the playmakers do get the ball in space it’s a result of a scramble drill and has little to do with Arod.

All you A-Rod haters can any of you reply to this comment and admit the last drive was gutsy and tells you about this offense under pressure? Let’s hear from you whiners.

Dude has 3 future NFL receivers on the team and can’t figure out how to get them the ball. Needs to put his QB at risk and make him run to save the 2nd game of the season. His only good year was when he was using Jeff grimes players.
@brennongolding39876 күн бұрын
Shouldn't have needed a game saving 4th down play. If the play calling was competent at all byu wins by 2 touchdowns

Gramps, if your going to argue in favor of ARod you might want to provide some substance. Sorry OG but if ARod ran a mediocre offense BYU wins this game by 14+

I think another year battling Tyler Batty, and him sharing ideas, made a big difference in Etienne's improvement too. As well as an improved OL Coach.

ARod makes poor decisions in high lressure situations. Watch the last couple of hears games. Even the sportscasters are like, "That was just the wrong play call." That's an ARod problem. BYU's offense has struggled with ARod as a OC. I don't think we get rid of him this year, since that would cause a serius disruption. But please, new OC next year.

Short-week road loss at CCU in 2020, right? That would make it 5-1 vice 5-0 for Sitake in short-week road games, no?

He's such a nice guy and I want him to succeed, obviously! I just don't get why we're so married to the run game on 2nd and 8. It just wasn't working.

Good news! I submitted Arod’s papers for a mission! Congrats, buddy, you and your wife are going to Madagascar for 3 years! Might want to look for a QB while you are there…

With ARod, give it a rest already...a win is a win! It's like crying over a good return on investment thinking that they could have done better. Nobody is feeling sorry for you!
@itsmeevan0276 күн бұрын
4:33 ARod says Jake had to put it over the backers, so he had to throw it a little high (on first TD pass). All while replay is shown with no line backers in the way of the pass.
