I'm always impressed at the quality of topics and opinions you put out on a daily basis, especially during losing seasons.

YOU HAVE TO KEEP RODGERS. Not only because of the cap hit. But because the data from the season shows that Rodgers having the lowest totals of his career doesn't matter. His lowest passer rating of his career is still better than most QBs in the league. And I've watched every Rodgers highlight. Rodgers actually doesn't look bad. He is still making the throws. His arm talent is still there. The issue is the o coordinator scheme. There is no motion or creativity at all. Rodgers is playing a pretty good season. He's leaning toward 30 TDS. Not only that. But having some rookie play is worse than Rodgers. The green bay packers do it best. Have a HOF start and let a rookie develop for 2 years. As for whether Rodgers wants to play? Of course! He is single. Unmarried. No kids. No family. He is lonely

Rodgers is a fist ballot HOF. He is also cooked. This whole deal was predicated on the fallacy that this team was a legit QB away from a legit run to the Super Bowl. It Was Not. Rodgers has determined the direction of the team since arriving. And that direction is the wrong way.

The Jets are much more than one season away from contending for a playoff spot. They need a new coaching staff, a complete rebuild of the defensive line, at least one more run stopping linebacker, a new QB, a new cornerback, one or two safeties, and will have to replace the players they let walk after this season. Let's be honest, it looks like 2027 before the Jets contend for a playoff spot.

Shitty teams make the wildcard if they clean house and keep the talent they have it’s completely possible to make the playoffs in 26 A DEEP RUN is a different story lol

Jets could make playoffs next season with a new coaching staff. Which players they will keep is unknown. Some players should be traded and Jets will hopefully get a good return. Will the new regime be able to select talent? Will the talent they get be able to stay healthy? JD selected good players, many got injured multiple times.

The question I have for people who want him cut is what is your better alternative? Why is better to pay $50 million in dead cap just to trot out a journeyman QB who won’t be any better vs paying half that to see if Rodgers can do something with a year under his belt with these players coming off his injury? I don’t get wanting to spend more money to not improve the position. And that’s what cutting him would be choosing.

Rodgers contract if he comes back next year will be cheaper next year, sure. But then there would be like a 35 million dead cap hit in 26. Better to just cut him and eat the dead cap all in 25, that way you can clear your salary cap in 25 and have a serious chance at rebuilding a team in 26 without cap issues.

@tominny Ah, I was not aware of those details. Thanks for explaining.

Might as well make it 15 years straight without a playoff appearance. and remove any hope.

That's like asking if the sun rises in the east. Get him gone, eat the dead money.
