Apart from the camera, I think Samsung peaked with the Note 10+.
@johndanielsforJesus2 жыл бұрын
I have to agree. I ended up "jumping" (T-mobile) my Note 10+ 5g, to the s22 Ultra, because I had a couple of month span where I had a case of the "dropsies" with my poor Note, which caused it to start to fail. Never dropped it, the 2 years prior 😔😔. Anyway, you're right. It looks like Samsung has started to downgrade their phones. The camera array, with technology as it is, SHOULD improve, every year. But how do you make a LARGER phone, yet LOSE the storage space, by HALF, whether it's the Note 20 Ultra, or the s22 Ultra?? 😲😐🙃 I'm also not impressed with the camera. Seems worse, to me.

@@swifty1969 I've had every Note, since the 2. My last favorite phone, was my 10+5g, with the Aura Glow package. I now have the Note 20 Ultra, (I have 2 phones) and the S22 Ultra replaced my Note 10, because it was beginning to fail, due to recent repeated accidental drops. Aside from the camera arrays, which should get better, every generation of phone, HOW DID each subsequent version, get WORSE? 😳 The Note 10 had 256 gigs of internal storage, in a very thin package. The Note 20 comes along, and while it is a tiny bit larger, screen-wise, it's also FATTER!!, yet the memory storage, was HALVED!! 😳😳 Same goes for the S22. Fatter phone; similar 128 gigs of internal storage. 🤷♂️🤷♂️ And then Samsung seems to keep dropping internal items, like the S22 losing the microSD slot! 🤦♂️🤦♂️ WHY??? Makes NO sense. It almost seems to me like Samsung knows there's going to be a financial collapse, and has chosen to not push more R&D (or cut back), into their flagships. 🤔🤔 All I know is that, if they're going to make a larger, FATTER phone, there should be no reason why they needed to drop the memory (256GB to 128GB), or RAM (12GB to 8GB), or lose the SD card slot, among other things I've failed to mention. I appreciate the expected things (bigger battery 🔋, better processor, each iteration), but the other things that were dropped, make no sense. Also, while I'm not a regular "picture-taker", I noticed, early on, that the S22 takes WORSE pictures, than the phone it replaced, my Note 10. Camera on the S22 Ultra SHOULD BE BETTER, than the one on the Note 10+5G.

@@johndanielsforJesus the reason they're actling like that is because they know that we once loyal Sammy customers don't have a suitable replacement company to switch to. Agree. My primary resson to upgrade from Note 10+ to S22 Ultra is to get much better fingerprint sensor response and 5G capability in which I could get 110G data at the same price with 4G plan of 12G data only where I have to count the mobile data usage carefully before upgrade. Besides what they said about the fingerprint sensor improvements... There's like no difference at all in terms of quickness... The galaxy S or Note 10 already has a great sensor to begin with... I think the main takeaway from this comparison is this: Image quality is very very subjective because when you showed that first photo of the dog I must say I prefer the note 10 image as the 22 ultra just seem somewhat washed out, but as you said it that's what the photo os supposed to look like in that scenario, but I bet that if you don't say anything and just show the photo as a blind test most people will say the note 10 image looks better. As for zooming in to check details after taking the shot I don't think anyone other than reviewers and photographers do that so I don't think that makes much of a difference as long as the photo looks good. Overall unless you want new software features and all the new hardware that comes with the new phones I personally don't think that anyone that has a note 10 plus should make the change to the 22 ultra I don't think the note 10 feels enough to justify buying a new phone.

As for the cameras. I think the saturation level has some to do with what the general public wanted in 2019 for mobile photography. Going with the trend that Apple started... In 18/19 most people wanted super saturated photos. A few years later now people want more natural/ brighter photos. To me, there's not enough difference for me to upgrade. The one reason I would though is if for some reason my Note 10+ ceased to function properly or broke. That's it. I don't need the 120hz display or the higher-end cameras that badly to give up expandable storage, a lighter thinner device, larger base storage, and more. I'll probably wait for the S23 ultra or even 24 ultra if this phone doesn't take a poop before then. But it doesn't look like it is going to any time soon seeing as it's fibroblasts the same if not better than the day I got it. Btw... I'm now subscribed! Like your videos a lot! Keep it up!

I think note 10 plus (which I've had for about 2 yrs) is one of the best phones Samsung has made when quality and cost are both considered. I've used mine daily for 2 years and it's still going strong and will crush anything I throw at it. I've dropped my phone at least 30 times and from pretty high and any other phone would have shattered but the note 10 plus isn't phased at all. I am not big on cameras and picture taking but there are a ton of options there if you are. The only thing I can say that I have noticed is that I watch a lot of KZbin and sometimes the screen doesn't rotate when I turn my phone, like the gyro lags or something. Might just be a software issue like recalibration is necessary but yea only things I have noticed that's degraded other than normal battery wear and tear. If you're in the market for a phone I would most definitely get yourself a new one, they are priced very well for what you get.

I just had to get the screen replaced on my Note 10 Plus. Turns out a new screen comes with a new battery, speakers, and new front panel. I'm keeping this until Samsung makes another leap, like they did with the Note 10 Plus.

you are not the 1st person to say sound or speaker is better on note 10 plus. so its pretty accurate

Cameras and Adaptive refresh rate I'd say are the biggest upgrade other than that from 2019 flagship to this years are very incremental upgrade that only tech enthusiasts like me or you would care about, so to 90% of the users I wouldn't advice an upgrade and to wait another 2-3 years until the 2019 flagship is done with all the updates.

In every single photo the quality looked way better on the Note 10+. I'm confused.

I currently have the note10+ and I'm considering using the trade in program for the S22 ultra for $800 off. I have the basic note 10+ not the 5g. My note still functions decently-ish. However one issue I've had since I first got the phone was the GPS. There's some internal issue that causes it to have very low accuracy. Apparently this is a common problem for a lot of the original note 10+. Is it worth yjw upgrade? The video only tells you so much.

after 3 years, how long will Samsung supply the Note 10+ with updates? Dn't want to purchase this over a 22U if I can't get updates.

I'm thinking of switching from S22 Ultra to Note 10 Plus. Reason, my top-right screen is spoilt. And rather than spending the $ to repair just a portion, might as well I get a phone. Thanks for the review. Now I know what's to be done next. 🤝

Given their cost, I find it hilarious how people desperately want the newest phone all the time, ie like every single year.

Bought Note 10+ in August 2019. Still using it and still very satisfied. Battery life is little worse, of course, and yes, todays flagships can make little bit better photos with better zoom and more details. But still it (Note 10+) has better camera than the mid-class. My employee bought S22 Ultra few days ago, of course we compared both phones. It's still not time for me to replace my Note 10+ .

Did you say what variant S22 Ultra you have? as well as which memory configuration?

Thanks for pointing that out. Both Snapdragon 12GB/256GB.

Love my note10+ and that comparison i thought most of the 10 pics were better than the 22. i was planning on upgrading this week but i dont know now.

Great Comparison Vid Aaron Agree that the performance increment is pretty marginal Honestly would take a Note 10+ even in 2023

I almost bought the S22Ultra today. You convinced me to keep my Note 10+. I would of been buying upgrades I didn’t t care about, and just a new battery. which my note battery is working perfectly fine since the day I bought it. I’m going to wait until a better note comes out. Not a fan of the S series, but almost folded. Thanks for the video comparison.

Thank you. I keep going back and forth with replacing my note 10+ but it's hard to replace this phone. As well its the last phone that samsung had that allowed you to use a Micro SD card with is a big game changer.

I'm switching from my old Note 10 without the plus to the S22 Ultra now. My phone is just done. I have 170% Battery usage per day, camera in low light sucks and gaming at max settings is to much for the old exynos. For me, it's time to switch!

hey man, great video. i just wanted to ask, i watched your x2hr video and am considering returning my SHPs, what do you use as your go for your pair of cans?
@aaron_kim2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Honestly it depends...SHP9500 is light and comfortable. Really well rounded. X2hr just bumps it up a notch and is more fun and immersive. I also have a pair of Sennheiser HD560s which is very analytical but pricey. The x2hr's go on sale occasionally, if you can get it at a good price they're great.
@jamman81852 жыл бұрын
@@aaron_kim Thanks for the response, i'll probabaly stick the SHPs for a while because they are very comfortable and maybe get the X2hrs when they go back on sale for £80. Thanks for the help i really appreciate it.👍

Realistically, for me, the Note20 Ultra is a better buy at this point than the Note10+; like the rest of the S10 family (except the S10 Lite & Note10 Lite), the Note10+ is effectively done with major Android updates (like my S10+, Android 12+One UI 4.1 is the end of the road). Worse yet, it's not like you can extend the life with custom ROMs, as the Snapdragon variants have been basically unrootable since the S7 family. (Exynos variant owners don't have this problem...) And the Note20 Ultra still has a year or two of major upgrades left.

Been using note10+ for 2.5 yrs. Love it so much. Best comfort handling. My daily driver esp for online meeting, offices, spen, leisures. Only shortages are sub par battery (need refuel 3x/day after recent updates), sub par camera (compared to my secondary driver iphone XR)...
@karinkuhlemann53592 жыл бұрын
You need to recharge your phone 3x a day?? I have the same model, same age, and it still only needs charging once a day. Maybe you need a new battery?
@Jam-nv5gm2 жыл бұрын
Watching this from my 10+ which I bought when the note 20 came out and I don't see the need to upgrade to the S22 ultra, but I am upgrading to the fold 3, just waiting for a bigger price drop on Christmas after the fold 4 launch. I hate that the s-pen is not integrated, but I need the extra screen space.

the only reason im looking to upgrade form the note 10 plus is because the charging issue with the temp sensor is starting to get VERY annoying. I cant plug my phone in anymore without strangling the back of the phone.

7:07 Samsung didnt lower the latency input, its the 120hz that make big difference than 60hz just like monitor. higher refresh rate the better latency input it gets.

I prefer the photos of the Note 10 when just looking at the pictures. Of course if you pixel peep and zoom, the S22 will have the advantage, but for normal photos I feel the S22 doesn't produce a better picture, just a slightly different kind of picture - and in this regard, I prefer the photos taken by the Note 10+. I had a look at another comparative video, and have the same conclusion. I'm curious if I'm the only one of this opinion...?
