This helped with my anxiety so much, I keep forgetting what my emotions really are, I kept thinking there was darkness within me because I couldn’t be “as loving” as I saw other people being, I couldn’t get “ecstatic” like I saw other people get. And I would get anxious thinking that. It’s truly a doomsday feeling, feeling like there’s darkness possibly inside of you. I learn so much from this channel but I also want to add that we don’t necessarily have to see our egos as this villain we keep chastising. I prefer to think of it as holding hands with the ego, holding it in compassion like a child and letting whatever ego thought come in be recognized for what it is, and still held in grace. There are some things that are just too extreme in the negative. Like for example a mother losing her child, how can that just be a negative opinion or perspective or some excruciating physical pain. Even in the context of the universe is “teaching us lessons” somethings like losing a child has no unique lessons that could’ve been taught with something less traumatic.

In Non Violent Communication (NVC), Marshall Rosenberg say’s that negative emotions are merely a tragic display of unmet needs. When we’re feeling good, usually are needs are being met, and likewise, when we’re feeling bad, some need is not being met. That’s when we can learn from the feelings/emotions to tune into what it is that’s missing in our lives and do whatever is necessary to get our needs met, including asking for help!

Brother, this was a huge shift in understanding this concept. Before, I was trying to be more Loving in all relationships so I’d do my best to forgive any grievances & shift my energy to a smile, to acceptance, to making light of or thinking positively…. And sometimes it’d work and sometimes it would feel like tremendous EFFORT, nearly impossible to even comprehend how to be more Loving. But this paradigm shift, that Loving is being more spacious… Aaaaaaaahaaaaa 💡 mom triggers me, I don’t have to smile at her or figure out how to act in a “loving way” as western society has indoctrinated me to think of love… I can just be spacious and allow her entirety, and my entirety, and the feelings that arise.
