I must say Aaron is more into his role than previous years. He is really into his part this time. Past few years wasn't even sure he would continue his gay role. I like the change in him but, as usual this more than likely won't last again. Hope it gets better and he finds a stable relationship with whomever if not Robert

I think danny miller just grew up remember that he was very young when he got the role of aaron.
@LightGE9 жыл бұрын
JordanjamesX I agree, Jordan. He was young and I don't think the role was originally written as gay. It came about because certain character traits suggested it. However, I think to some extent his approach fit with the character, because Aaron was so self-conscious back then. Though, it would have been nice to see more PDA in private moments, which Danny apparently wasn't very comfortable with. As you said, because he was very young. Aaron and Danny both seemed to have grown up and have become comfortable with the gay character. I think Danny has come back with a more keen perspective of how impactful his character and performance was to the gay storyline audience, even internationally. (Cali girl here.) And Aaron has just found his sense of identity and a defiant Aaron-attitude, inner strength about himself. Gotta add, though, that I wish Danny and Ryan would work on the kissing. Pulling their lips back makes the kiss look awkward. I remember I always liked Thor Scholermann (Christian/Ollie) for the way he used his lips. His kisses always looked real, sensuous and engaged. And he was the straight actor of the pair. That chemistry is what made that pairing highly successful. If Danny and Ryan don't loosen up, it could make the difference between a good gay storyline and a dead gay storyline.

***** ***** : Very perceptive views on Aaron. IMO Danny Miller has several reasons for taking proud ownership of the Aaron character: He has paid his dues. Danny took off several years to try his wings in other venues and discovered competition was ferocious, he lacked talent in singing, the adulation he got used to as Aaron--was missing in other stage work, financial compensation issues and tenure guarantee, he didn't have the loyal producers that he had at Emmerdale. The end result is that Danny Miller stated he was going to milk the Aaron character for as long as it will last. In addition, Danny Miller was physically attacked by two drunk thugs for playing a gay character, has received public insults for being perceived as gay, has had death threats and stalking for 4 years for being a straight lad playing a gay lad, (Jackson got the threats also)--to the point Danny has stated he now understands the hassle gay boys go through for being gay. (Is that why the anxiety and nail biting issues?) Danny has grown up to the point where he was seen recently in a Scotland gay bar helping judge the gay winner of a contest, and even allowed a gay male to hold his face while being kissed on the cheek (the video is out there). Now THAT is progress. Danny is now consciously fully invested in the Aaron character. As to Danny's kissing style, lol, at least he isn't as bad a Craig from Hollyoaks who looked like a goldfish at feeding time. Unfortunately for us Robron fans, the odds makers are betting we will lose one of the boys in this summer's bloodbath. (sniff) (( :>)
@LightGE9 жыл бұрын
1joehig Oh my, WOW!!!!! I had no idea all of that happened to him. But, yes, you can see his new resolve in his performance. I really hope that they don't kill off one of these characters. They are both legacy characters, having familial attachment to beloved, legendary characters long gone (I missed all those, though. New to UK Soaps only a few years.) But, moreso because there is so much potential in this love story. Both characters have deep wells in their personality that offer a ton of room to grow. And I think their love story can be pretty epic in the end. And Ryan Hawley, my God, is simply amazing. We can't lose him. Thanks for all that info. I'm really proud of Danny now for standing strong against that kind of opposition.

These scenes show Robert's internal conflict he seems drawn to Aaron but he seems to have anxiety about being sexually attracted to another man. Is Robert bisexual?
@lilybethbaah527410 жыл бұрын
Yes. He is bi.
@koreyraywilson10 жыл бұрын
I don't think Robert is Bi I think he is getting married to try to hide being gay like so many men do
@LightGE10 жыл бұрын
I don't think Robert is bisexual. I think marrying Chrissy is part of the persona he wears. 1. My first thought is that the day he and Aaron first kissed, he was so turned on he went straight for Chrissy and they had sex. Yet, he still wasn't satisfied and went out in search of Aaron to have sex that satisfied his desire. 2. He's the type of person that is always "On." Like, projecting this role, this image to the world that he thinks he should be. And that includes his snarky attitude, and being supposedly straight. 3. I think he's an opportunist. He adjusts to any situation that will yield him a benefit, and I think "falling in love" with Chrissy did that and is still doing that. He obviously doesn't love her, he uses her on a regular basis, and doesn't care if she's hurt by the things he does. And he knows that about himself outright. 4. I recall the major heated dialogue between him and Lawrence about when they first were working together. He says that Lawrence thought he, Robert, was gay and that he allowed Lawrence to believe that, even flirted with Lawrence to get special favor over his competing colleagues in the business. Lawrence became the thing that benefitted him the most at that moment, until being with Chrissy seemed a more respectable way to obtain the position of stature. 5. I also think Robert doesn't really know what the heck he is, to a certain point. I definitely think Robert is gay, not bi. But, I do think there is something special about Aaron that goes above that. Aaron sees right through Robert without blinking. And he doesn't let Robert play out the persona with him. I think Robert has never really had someone call him out the way that Aaron does. I mean, Lawrence does; but, for Robert that situation is more adversarial and he feels he must win the game over Lawrence. Also, Lawrence has a self-serving (though not selfish) motive for calling Robert out. He is/was genuinely trying to protect his daughter from a guy that is a fraud. Robert only sees Lawrence's calling him out as the competitor, as his attacker, as the person trying to put obstacles in his way of getting what he's after. With Aaron, there is no self-serving reason for him calling Robert out. He just reads him, straight through the bullshit. I also think Robert has never come across someone like Aaron that he couldn't buy off. Not that those people aren't out there, Robert just has never gravitated toward the genuine type. So, I think Robert is definitely gay and when he begins to question himself with authenticity through the lens of what's real and not the lens of the jealous ridden lies he's been telling himself for years, I think he'll find that he is gay. Not bi.

But why would Robert risk so much to be with Aaron? The writers need to explain why he is into men?
@LightGE10 жыл бұрын
Andrew Simpson Why he's into men? People been trying to answer the question of why men are into men since forever now. You fall for who you fall for and sometimes there's not a lot of explanation to be had. However, my opinion about why Aaron, why now, and why risk everything is stated in my above comment. Feedback or debate welcome.

Dammit! Ross is an idiot, but I WANT to like him. He's written as a real mess. None of his schemes ever work, etc. I hope there's some change in 2015. Donna's death just can't continue to haunt him. Geez.
@eleanor710 жыл бұрын
Geoff Alnutt Agreed, sure Donna's death hit him hard. But he has made no effort to change or grow. He's still hurting his family, he's still hurting Marlon and Laurel. It's just the same storyline over and over.
@LightGE10 жыл бұрын
I love Ross. And I love that he's a mess, a screw up, and a sarcastic, little git. I remember Michael Parr's very first scene. It was when Laurel found him, her car jacker, and went to his flat. The actor was so engaging in the role, I thought they should bring him back. Next thing you know, we find out he was Moria's nephew. What? I wonder if that was the originally planned or TPTB decided to make him a permanent fixture because he was so good. Anyway, I think what I really like about Ross is the more he is a sarcastic, divisive, loner, idiot he is, the more potential I see for digging a deep well into who he really is. I think his love for Donna, then and now, really gives Michael Parr the opportunity to show his multi-dimensional abilities, and I think the thing with the mother coming about will tell us a lot, really a lot, about Ross and Pete, even more so than Finn. Guess well see.

Danielle Clayton Bisexual is what everybody was for 800 years in the classical Greco-Roman period. It means an honest appreciation for love, intimacy, sex, and desire for both genders. It doesn't have to be equally 50-50. I know because I am one, and I know plenty of bisexuals. We are not confused queers, and we usually don't hang around the gay scene. Most of us are closeted because we have kids and relate to the str8 world. Gays on the other hand can start out str8 or bisexual and one day they realize they are most comfortable with the same gender. One problem gays face is women who fall in love with them even though the ladies knows they are gay. It's like women who go after priests. Forbidden "fruit" tastes the sweetest.

@danielleclayton509410 жыл бұрын
Yh good point but I do prefer Aaron and Robert to Chrissie and Robert because I think Robert shows more interest in Aaron than Chrissie and Aaron and Robert have a really unique bond and relationship and I don't think u see that with Chrissie and Robert. Its a risk the producers took but a risk worth taking and its started a massive 'like' conversation about them two and its interesting and sends a message through to other people maybe 'gay' or 'bi' people.
@LightGE10 жыл бұрын
Danielle Clayton I agree. I think for Robert, Chrissy is a means to end. She is what/who he needs to place himself in a certain standing. I think he is more real, authentic, and sincere when he's with Aaron, and I think his draw to Aaron means he's actually falling in love and just doesn't know it yet. I don't think Robert and Chrissy are gonna wined up getting married. I think something is going to happen around the time of the wedding that will make Robert realize that he loves Aaron and that he will be forced by circumstance to choose. Not like Chrissy or Aaron will demand he make a choice. But, more like something will happen to Aaron just as Robert is about to get married and he won't be able to keep himself from running to Aaron. Once that happens, there's a whole other set of obstacles they will have to overcome to be together, because everyone will be against them.

I'm sorry that Finn isn't Aaron's Type because Finn wants more with Aaron.
@LightGE10 жыл бұрын
I think Finn wants more with Aaron because Aaron is the only other gay guy in the village. Finn is wallowing a little too much and doesn't even put himself out there to find someone. Aaron at least goes out to the bars and connects (wink wink.) Finn just hangs out at the B&B, at the farm or with Victoria, being ironically pessimistic, wishing that his life was different than it really is. I mean, even the guy he met that he liked for five minutes had to walk into his local and meet him on the sofa at the B&B... even though he turned out to be a predator and killer. Finn didn't even walk passed his front steps to meet that guy. Finn is a bit of a spoiled brat, where in he knows he's so smart and so clever that he doesn't realize you have to work hard for your life and for your dreams. That's okay though. He's young, and sometimes young people have to go through that phase before they get a good swift kick in the pants. I think that's why Aaron isn't interested in Finn. Aaron has been through so many very serious things and he is a mature person well beyond his years. Finn complaining about his very sheltered life and his lack of life progress has got to be a major turn off for Aaron. Can you imagine what Aaron is thinking when Finn is complaining about Eric making him clear off tables? Like, "I've been to prison, mate, I'd clear off tables everyday if it meant I'd never have to go back." Nope, Finn needs to get up off his butt and fight for what he wants, otherwise he simply doesn't deserve it... and that includes getting a guy. And as far as Aaron is concerned, I think one of the reasons he is drawn to Robert is because Robert is strong and forceful. He's a take charge, do something kinda guy, even if he is a big jerk and a massive fraud. I also think that Aaron relates to Robert being a big jerk and a massive fraud, because Aaron has always been a big snarky jerk, and he felt like a massive fraud before he came out. He knows where Robert is in life and he really gets it. Aaron was the same as Robert is now... upset about the past, and all the perceived unfairness of life, the lashing out when he's scared or hurt or simply thrown off balance by what's going on. He recognizes himself in Robert as the person he was and the person he wants to save from himself. I don't think Aaron can relate at all with Finn and so there's no commonality, no understanding and no interest.

***** l'm loving Robert and Aaron's storyline right now, I've always have been a fan of Aaron very impressed with ED for writing a original pairing. Wish the writers of "Y&R" were open minded all we get from them is the same old love triangles.
