Very nice live stream. I don't think people fully understand how difficult it is to answer questions live without preparation while citing articles and recalling several-year old studies. I really look forward to your videos from ECTRIMS. I have never been unfortunately. Hopefully you can do some interviews and post them as well. It's awesome that you have created enough videos that you can cite your own playlists. Thank you for the shout-out also :)

Hey Dr. Brandon Beaber. Seen as many people with MS have to deal with cognitive issues of all kinds every day, often leading to people leaving the workplace early due to problems with memory, sequencing, prioritising, concentration, forming sentences, remembering words, using the wrong word, doing the wrong things, making so many mistakes one never used to make, reading things properly the first time (side-question; are developmental dyslexia and dyspraxia a thing in MS?), losing things and scouring to find them only to lose them again, forgetting you've lost them, trying to keep up with what people are saying, over-running baths because you've totally forgotten that you were going to wash, producing speech when muscles don't work properly in your mouth and throat, along with many more issues of which knock your self-esteem and sense of self, I'm sure we can empathise with how difficult it must be for you and Dr Boster to keep up with questions on the live-feed, and answer them so eloquently, quickly and professionally, to boot. We totally appreciate it. Goodness, if anyone would understand the challenges involved with doing such an intense live Q&A, it would be a person with MS! Keep up the good work, both of you, and remember we get it. Look after yourselves and don't become burdened by perceived expectations. (I should take me own advice, actually...) You're already doing more than enough and you're both awesome, along with Prof.Giovannoni and his blog/Twitter feed here in the UK.

QUESTION: Dr. Boster my neurologist suggested Mavenclad for me as I haven't taken a DMT for years. My Question what are the side effects please ? So far I've read very little in side effects...... He would prefer I have ocrevus but to date it's not licenced in the rep of Ireland. So Mavenclad I agreed on. Just to say I get on very well with my neurologist attending him for years he's down to earth always doing his very best for patients....just like you..... he's easy to talk with. Thank you in advance for everything & for being you. Jane Watts Co. Mayo Rep Ireland. 💚

QUESTION: Studies show that giving rituximab immediately after cladribine has been a very successful treatment for a variant of hairy cell leukemia (HCL). Of course HCL is a very different disease from MS, but could the same strategy be applied? Using cladribine for induction and rituximab for maintenance? I was diagnosed with highly active MS a year ago and is just about to start my second treatment year with cladribine/ Mavenclad. I am however a bit skeptical to go without any treatment for three years after the last dose, which is the protocol for Mavenclad.

Hi Dr Boster, I'm in Nevada 😃. I'm curious if my movement problem is common. When I am watching TV or just reclining on the couch, my lower body is constantly moving in a circular motion as well as my head. I try to stop it and it feels like I'm fighting something pulling me?? My head movement was something I wasn't aware of until my husband told me and took video to show me. I look very out of it and my mouth will sometimes hang open. I try to find the humor in it and say I look like something from the Walking Dead. In all honesty I am embarrassed by it. Please let me know if you have any paitents with this and how I should proceed?? My doctor has no idea.

Hi Dr. B! What do you feel is the best treatment or best way to cope with RRMS and this AWFUL neuropathic pain? I was dx'ed January 2018 but looking back, I've had issues with this for 18yrs now. I was dx'ed with carpel tunnel when I was 21 y.o. and was advised by my doctor at the time, to stop doing hair; however, I never received any type of scans or testing back then to actually support the dx of carpel tunnel syndrome. I believe that this is what gave my disease more time to get worse bcz I was misdiagnosed so long ago. I am now 38 and have ALOT more symptoms than I did 18yrs ago.

Dr Boster. What do you do, or what should you expect people to do, when you have allergic reactions in the form of urticaria, to solumedrol, minutes after a 1g drip start? I know, probably very specific , but seemingly to my doctors a confusing issue. I'm obviously not hoping for a clear definitive answer, but a rough idea.

QUESTION I’ve had MS for 15 years, I now have Secondary MS. Are there many people with MS have fainting spells? Linda from Florida
@kelly-bo-belly
@kelly-bo-belly 4 жыл бұрын
Be sure to ask your PCP about these spells. I had issues earlier this year and ended up fracturing my wrist from one of the falls. So many bad falls. It's nothing to sit on. That's for SURE. :( Keeping a journal to record the events and what was happening before/during/after proved helpful to best communicate and understand my own situation. 👍 Would recommend trying the same for you. :) Looking at medication side effects and drug interactions may be a good starting place. My doctor discovered that one of my meds was causing orthostatic hypotension which resulted in fainting upon standing and walking too quickly from a seated position. A quick medication adjustment solved the problem. I hope you can find such a solution! Good luck pinpointing this issue and take care of yourself! 🧡
