I am a huge fan of this fragrance, it causes nose-blindness immediately if you smell it up close, but in reality, it projects for the whole day and fills up the entire building you are in

The EDP is lethal. A customer in my work had it on and I asked him what he was wearing, he said MFK BCR540, I don't think he expected me to know it but he said he put it on at like 19:00 and it was roughly 02:00 by this point and was massively projecting. Oddly enough I went home and spewed that night, unsure if I got too much of that or something food-wise didn't agree with me but yeah it's amazing stuff, smells good, LETHAL!

I’m glad you said this. Today I sprayed something I didn’t like and gave me a headache and immediately cleaned it off and sprayed BR540 but couldn’t smell it at all. Sprayed and sprayed but still nothing. Noseblind. Panic attack ensued lol until a few hours later it started to hit me and breathed a sigh of relief. Thought it was just me that had that issue

I bought this as a 25 yo man. I sprayed twice on the neck and go to a store. There was a woman Glaring her eye at me, completely feel empty just like seeing a ghost. idk if it’s that good or it is too strong for anybody. For me, This is truly a masterpiece by MFK, lot of clones but not as good as the original. Nice review btw Aaron :)

I’m so happy you are honest. That it’s overpriced that on some it’s going to be great on others not so much. Versus all the other reviews that are saying compliment getter, beast mode.. get it! The truth is it’s a stunning iconic fragrance for SOME and there are others that it will not work for. I know that goes with any fragrance but this one seems to be one that people refuse to mention anything negative about it. I have it and love it but it was WORK.. like 6 months of trying to figure out how to wear it so I don’t have anosmia while wearing. One spray on the back and one behind the knees did it.

My wife's signature fragrance! I picked up a bottle and it just didn't work on my skin. I asked my wife to give it a wear and is now on her 3rd bottle! The projection and longevity on my wife is absolutely enormous. She's gotten more complements wearing this than another other fragrance she wears. My biggest complaint is the price.....it's absurd. Other than that, I find my wife irresistible when she wears it and she loves the fragrance as well! Win/Win!!! Cheers!

Great review, Aaron! I think it’s very unfortunate that so many people go nose blind to BR. I’m so glad that I get to enjoy the beauty and strength of this fragrance. I have absolutely no problem at all smelling the edp and extrait for over 12 hours. The extrait is sooooo monstrous on me that it’s INSANE! One day, I inadvertently sprayed my work vest with BR540extrait. The next day, I wore a different fragrance as my SOTD, but I could still smell BRx as much as I could my SOTD…if not more….for the entire work shift. 32+ hours of longevity is no exaggeration. This stuff is simply NUCLEAR on me!!! Holla.

I have both the BR 540 edp and the extrait. I find the edp much sweeter and I'm probably the minority here as a man, I prefer the edp. I go nose blind right away but they both last all day. The edp gets me a ton of compliments and the extrait I have yet to get a compliment after 30 plus wears. I've gone through a full bottle and then some of the edp and I have gone through about a quarter bottle of the extrait.

Bought this two weeks ago - wore it out for the first time at dinner last weekend. Machine washed the polo shirt I was wearing the next day & I can still smell the scent on it 😂 This morning I it sprayed three sprays on my neck at 08.45, left the house, came back at 14.00. Have been watching the golf most of the day, but have ventured into a few other rooms in the house. Wife got back after 18.00, said she can smell it all over the house. It does carry alot, even if it doesn’t smell too strong to yourself. I have say though I absolutely love this fragrance, expensive yes, but my god it smells incredible.

this is one of the first niche fragrances i bought the EDP version. Its always my go to and i have over 200 fragrances and this is my Fondest memory the first time smelling this i was like wow, this is just so weird and contrarian to what i normally like. I usually wear dark ambery style fragrances i have everything from le labos to indie houses. But BR540 is always my baby. Brings me back to the first time i smelt mastery. L'air Du desert morrocain is another that makes me feel this way.

There’s a hard line between a prisoner of the moment, and just facing reality for what it’s become. I been in the cologne/parfum world for at least a decade now, haven’t smelled everything, but been through enough to where I know what’s best for me. I’ve had/still have my fair share of signatures, but I have never, ever, been craving more of a scent until I encountered this 540. I really could wear just this one for the rest of my life 😍. I just tested this one and Grand Soir on me, both are very lovely though not for me. On my skin both seemed to be very soft and powdery, pretty smelling but not something I loved. I instead went with Portrait of A Lady and love it! Oh my God, I love the smell of it so much 😍 and it's so strong, so projecting, one or two sprays seems to be enough to last all day long. Really- ALL day long. But I did spray 4 times and that was way way too much🤣🤣🤣

Got a sample yesterday, couldn’t smell a thing from it! Had shower, splashed on some TF Vanillle… smelling good. This morning the wrist I sprayed this on I can now actually smell something (even though I showered) and none of the TF I put on after. How strange 😆😆

Weirdly, I'm 100% totally anosmic to this scent. I bought a few samples from MFK this one included and literally couldn't smell it at all although others did. I did however spray a little onto the peak of my cap (it was summer at the time) and now I can smell something where I sprayed it 😂 I know that makes no sense. Almost like a sweetened version of a freshly opened bandage. Smells are hard to describe!

I just tried Baccarat Rouge 540 for the first time, after being into this hobby for the last few months. I didn't want to like it this much! I got this wardrobe set from Nordstrom, of eight ten ml bottles, including BR540 Extrait. I had only tried Grand Soir from MFK before just a few minutes ago, and I already love this br540! I already had Mancera Instant Crush, but this smells so much better, just from the opening and heart and dry down so far. It seems much sweeter.

I have travel sprayers of this and the OG. To me, I go nose blind to the Extrait, within an hour, but can smell the OG 10-12 hours later.

Great technical review! The nose-blindness is just crazy with this one. I wiped one spray off my neck with an exfoliating cloth a couple hours after spraying. I smelled nothing at the time. The next morning, BR540 was just wafting off that cloth and filling my entire bathroom! I had went totally anosmic wearing it. Just a trace of what I couldn't smell on my neck projected off fabric hours later. I think a lot of skin differences are actually anosmia. How do you deal with nose-blindness as a perfumer? Especially hedione is notorious for disappearing on the wearer. It's probably tough balancing out something that you can't accurately smell as a whole!

Great review as always :) My ATH Christmas box is here. What a wonderful surprise to find not only the ordered fragrances but also a Christmas Unicorn card from you and your dogs (So so so so so soooooo cute!) plus samples of other fragrances. I tried some of them. "Raw cherry" to me is a unisex cherry fragrance done right. This is what I expected TF's "Lost cherry" to smell like (more or less). Really nice and such a wonderful alternative for men because I think there are a lot of cherry fragrances for women and almost none (good) for men. This is perfect. And I'm not a big fan of cherry fragrances. I ordered the "Patchouli noir" sample earlier and it was too strong for me at first and now (second try) I like it very much. patchouli noir drys so soft and sensual. never judge my work on the initial blast. wait 5 mins to dry and then 30 minutes for the fragrance to unfold. my work is so personal to me that if i can. i like to say hello via a card to my customers. 🦄🦄🦄🦄

I adore all of my many fragrances in my collection, but I never experienced something that magical, with any other fragrance I ever smelled, not at that lvl, so hard to explain and than it's such an amazing fragrance for layering, especially the EdP for me.......

This one actually has a really nice opening but I’ve never had the chance to actually sample it because whenever I go to Neiman Marcus, they never have samples of this one, only the edp. The sales associate says that this one, the extrait, has a 40% concentration. Not entirely sure if that’s true or not.

I have the extrait, and many are saying it smells expensive and also like a dentist office. I guess it makes sense as the dentist is expensive. Anyway it may be an acquired taste, for me it's still an interesting smell and unfortunately my senses can't detect so many beautiful ingredients.
