This Lalique numbered limited edition was released in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Black Orchid’s release. The set contained a ‘parfum’ concentration of Black Orchid, but the main point was the Lalique handmade bottle (Lalique has been a high-end glassware manufacturer since 1885 & their glassware can sell for many thousands of pounds ). This is no different from Chanel producing Number 5 in a Baccarat Crystal bottle & charging £10,000 for it - if you’re not a bottle collector & don’t want the fancy bottle, just buy the regular edition !

My grandmother used black orchid everyday that was my Mimi scent . I have her last bottle, I spray it in the house while cleaning and sometimes I wear it . I’m a man but I believe a lot of men wear this .

Yes Aaron I used to wear black orchid since it was first released and I can confirm it was sooooo strong- everyone could smell it when you walked into a room. It’s still in my top 3 and a beautiful masterpiece, just not quite as strong. Thanks for the video 😘

Another great review Aaron , this is a classic case of paying for the Lalique bottle and not the actual perfume . It’s a shame that so many people for this nonsense in my opinion, as you said they should have ramped up the ingredients and made it smell expensive .

Black Orchid was nearly as powerful and full bodied as the 80s version of Poison! An uber glamorous friend (she owned, as in attitude, ANY perfume). So, she lived with YSATIS for years (a great fragrance) but, as with everything, she had to move on.... Black Orchid filled the gap, and it followed her seamlessly...she has to move on because it's become weaker. I think I will send her LUNA 🥰

Black Orchid did change around mid late 2014. It was weakned a bit, but the smell was changed drastically. The post 14 version is alot more femmenine imo

95% of the price is for the hand-made Lalique bottle - it was made as a limited edition for the anniversary of the fragrances initial release. Lalique charge thousands for their glassware so if you don’t want the fancy bottle you just buy the standard edition

Lalique is one of my favorites ... I have some perfumes like encre noire, lalique pour homme etc ..... Lalique is a manufacturer of good luxury crystals, for that reason the quality of their bottles and apart from the quality of their perfumes. .. I love them and this special edition of tom ford is sure to be a delicacy .... Greetings 👍🏻👍🏻🙂

You only buy this for the Lalique bottle, It will rise in value over time. We have some Lalique perfume bottles from the year of 1230 and are quite valuable now, buuuutt I prefer the juice over the bottle, my last collectable bottle was the Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura by Acqua di Parma(love the juice and the bottle). :D

The point was that it was a numbered limited edition of 1200 produced for the 10th Anniversary of Black Orchids release. Oddly there are bottle collectors which is why Chanel / Guerlain etc all produce baccarat bottles & handmade special edition bottles at huge prices. As always, if you don’t collect bottles, or Lalique, just buy the bog-standard version

You pay for the prestige of owning one of those. If that makes you happy and you have the funds you will pay it. If it doesn't matter to you you won't. Honestly, for the price of a Tom Ford suit I can get 5 very decent tailored suits, still I want to get a Tom ford suit one day. Do I say this is worth the money? No, objectively it is absolutely not! It might make someone happy though and then they can justify buying editions like this one.

Very frustrating as formulations are so complex and have different stages. That happens weekly .

I can picture some of the notes but some are easier to "guess" than others, incense for example gives me a similar vibe all the time even if different but if the note is apple then I have no idea because it can be so much different. Red apple, green apple, sour or sweet etc so it depend on the notes. What I have found works is finding reviewers that like some of the same things as you and then go from there. I picked fragrances from your lines based on your reviews of some of my favorites like tom ford noir extreme, PDM percival and bleu de chanel + a few others I own I have daddy and notorious currently both are amazing but it made me wonder, would forbidden in terms of vibe be closer to a combination or something in between? :P edit: also think the price on this is very overpriced. Price should match the ingredients/content at least to some degree, is this 700 bucks of quality or just 500 bucks of box?

I have a bottle of Black orchid that I bought in 2009. Its so strong, I only spray one maybe two sprays. Anymore and you choke people out with it thats how strong it is. There is still half left of the bottle, now thats worth paying for. Not the prices Tom Ford charge these days and they all have performance issues.

I can actually go to feed our horse , haulage, traditional mix bit of chaff and alfalfa , and a tad of sugar beet this time of year, rub it all over myself and you smell lovely for free. Especially when you get slimed.lol. anyone that spends that amount of money to smell of something seriously needs a check up from the neck up mate.
