There are several fragrances that turn up with rose and rum notes on Fragrantica if you search for those notes. They look pretty interesting, especially one called Siren and Sailors.

Maybe this wasn't meant to be a jammy/punchy rose fragrance but rather a "green" rose/thorny stem type of smell. Hence the word "prick" in the name. Will never pay the TF high prices but I'm enjoying the clone 😀.

Absolutely agree with your review of Rose Prick, I would score it less because the price is ridiculous for what you get, I was very underwhelmed when I tried this, I’m no expert but definitely can tell that Rose Prick has rose accords in rather than an absolute, it’s just meh, pleasant but bland, my love for rose has slowly grown over the last few years and I am really appreciating it now!

Different types of rose in the same perfume is just marketing but also in very few cases one prolongs the scent of the other. I only have experienced it with the Taif rose combos. But to be honest if you use a small concentration of musk you get the same effect.

Oohh our aaron, so it probably has a candyflossy type of smell, I actually purchased NARCOTIC V BY NASSOMATTO for my other half, i find the dry down on her much better, I can't stand the opening. Its a bit WHITE STILLETTOES come Essex candyflossy . Dry down is OK. Much cheaper. X

Tom ford private blend pricing doesn’t make sense to me,they have frags in private blend that charge u over 200€ n then same frag moves to signature series n price shrinks to third! True, rose on men is awesome. Men tend to pull rose differently, darker and more velvety, whereas as women pull rose powdery and even fruity. Perhaps skin temperature and hormones play a role here.

I’ve been thoroughly disappointed by most Tom Ford fragrances. I smelled almost the entire line and none of them I find worthy of holding a place in my collection. Stylish bottles, lackluster fragrance. It’s like someone who wears very stylish clothes but doesn’t have confidence. Also, Aaron, I’d be very intrigued by YOUR style of green fragrance. I know you don’t care for them which is why I’d like to see it.. and smell it.

We will do it this year. Il take my production manager along and spray one arm with Citrus fragrance and the other with an Oud and Rose fragrance and see what the % of Women like. I am thinking of doing it as an actual scientific paper and submitting. I have actually noticed the woman and mans brain like different things. Its really interesting.

I like Tom Ford very much (not just for his fragrances, but also his films), but to me this is a miss. The issue with the F****** Fabulous, Lost Cherry, Bitter Peach (etc) fragrances is that the names are far more interesting than the scents themselves, and that’s how I feel about Rose Prick - very Tom Ford, but not for me.

It’s unisex. The turmeric, pepper and patchouli along with Rose green (stem and leaf) make it workable on men.

In this man's opinion...very few. lol. Women's frags are almost universally bad, have been for decades. I have never once smelled a perfume on a woman that drew me to her more, they almost always repel, or I'm indifferent. I'll admit tho that I'm fussy, and very conscious of scent. But I also really think a lot of men would agree w/me. Men's fragrances are just much more interesting (or meaning, those frags that are marketed to men or unisex). (Edit: I may've answered your question inadvertently: men like men's frags on women, lol. I know women who buy things like Mugler's men's frags. Not freshies. Orientals and/or gourmands. Just imo.)

That would be an interesting research project concerning women and the love of florals on men! I've never smelled heavy florals on any man where I live so I can't comment on how I would respond to it, but I will say that I love the 'freshie' genre of male-marketed scents. The first time I smelled Issey Miyake for men was on a woman and the scent drove me bananas lol! It was so hot, sexy, and stunning on her that I always asked her to come chat with me more often just so I could smell it.
