Hi Will, very helpful video thanks. Will you be doing a similar one for mock 1?
@Willboardman2 жыл бұрын
Hi Harry, glad you found it helpful! I probably won’t be doing one for the first anytime soon unfortunately. Just got quite a few videos in the pipeline at the moment :).

Doing the loss for the year row is very confusing. SoPL DR is for expenses. CR is for income. Is it because the account is "loss" for the year that the amount is assumed to be a negative but no minus is put there to show when adding up both columns? Would I then assume the SoFP DR is also negative? But that doesn't seem right if I want to decrease the capital...

Right I do understand the confusion, so when you’re entering in your loss it needs to balance off your P&L. If the business had made a loss the debit side would be higher than the credit side. I.E. expenses higher than income. Therefore to balance this off it would be a credit in the P&L. It would then be a debit to the capital account within the statement of financial position as it’s reducing the funds owed to the owner of the business.

I really don't understand why the mocks are so easy and then the actual questions in the synoptic exam are 10 times harder. The level of difficulty of the mocks and unit assessments were comparable . :( If I had the questions like this i would certainly pass :(. 6 weeks waiting time for the results and so little exam windows while the syllabus is getting discontinued soon is a total joke from AAT. They try to teach us about fundamental principles, but where's their professional competence and due care?

@willywoo. I agree with you 100%. It is disgusting how aat make the synoptic so hard and the pass rate is just 52%. The questions that I had were so difficult and nothing like any of the practice papers. Now like you say there is only a few weeks left to pass. I have my resit 31st July and I'm dreading it. Feel like giving up because what's the point in revision when the exam is totally different?

@@Katmamma I’m going to resit my exam the same week too. I’ve not got the results yet but I’m convinced I failed . I think after the second attempt I’m going to move to the new syllabus. It’s a waste of time to try to pass it for the third time .

i have the exam today as well, and the same feelings. it seem kind of a scam. it's the second time this, but the first was so much harder than the mocks

Absolutely true. The difficulty between the mock exams vs the actual exams is insane. I feel like the mock exams are much more basic. It’s not fair if you ask me
