@@ChaatNChat i highly suggest "Kumbalangi Nights" which is usually considered the gateway movie Malayalam cinema. It also has Fahadh Faasil, but it's an ensemble cast. There are actors from Manjumel Boys also in that movie. Another fun movie is Romancham, it's the first movie of the same director as Avesham.

Watching it late. This is similar to ragging in medical college, atleast my med school. Seniors beat junior while night for petty reasons, make them do activities like singing, dancing, acting etc for their fun. And then in the end feed them, become nice to them. Malayalam cinema is in a league of its own. A couple of Mallu movies that just blew me away in the recent past (and are of a very different genre from Aavesham and Manjummel boys :)) - (1) 'Kaathal the core'- deals with a marriage between a gay man and an unhappy wife (2) ' The great Indian kitchen' - A movie portrays family patriarchy in a very insightful manner that probably could not have been depicted better.
