Superb song and movie. I watched this film when I was in 6th grade. Being a non-Tamilian, I knew Kamal Hassan from only three films back then - Ek Duje ke Liye, Sanam Teri Kasam and Saagar. When I first watched this film, I felt an irresistible urge to watch his Tamil films. Then I got a chance to see Mahanadi and another film (don't remember name) where Kamal, Rajnikanth and Sridevi had acted together. I saw these on Sunday afternoons on Doordarshan. Since then I had been trying in vain to rent videos of Kamal's Tamil films - a rarity in my state in those days. All this changed with the advent of satellite channels and later, the internet and youtube. Now I can watch the legendary actor whenever I want to. Though I hardly understand a word of Tamil, films of Kamal Hassan keep me glued to the screen in wonder. Amitabh Bachchan had once said: "Kamal Hassan is a greater actor than me." Such is the talent of this actor :)
