I'm okay with bands who put in like electronic effects and shit into their music. That's groovy. They're crossing two genres and making their own sound. Go you. But honestly.. that rap part in this song came at me like the random black dude in Rebecca Black's Friday track, that rap part just sounded shitty as hell. To make my point, and ONCE AGAIN THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, a band like I See Stars has MASTERED this technique of blending electronic music with their hardcore/post-hardcore style. Look at Murder Mitten for example, or Violent Bounce. Those two tracks are REALLY good and very unique. This however feels too.. fake, really. I dunno. Does anyone else get the same feel? Abandon All Ships has a good idea I guess, but it's like TOO MUCH almost.

The screaming is shit, the auto tune is cliched, the music is lazily written, and the presentation is covered in douche slime. But you know what? It works. I love thrash, death and black metal so I see where the metalhead purists are coming from. To them I say, just get over it. AAS never set out to impress you with inspiring solos or melodies, or brutal vocals. They made music that was fun to play for them and that people could get into. They accomplished both. They made music the way it made sense to them. Yes I know their shortcomings as a "metal" act, a "hardcore" act, and even an "electronica" act, but they never intended to be just one thing. Fans enjoy, critics move along. *drops mic*
