Autopsy theaters are very common. Every medical faculty of every college has one. Also, autopsies and dissections are really not as "crazy" as you think. We don't do things that are considered out of the norm with bodies, unless the deceased have agreed to it before death. I understand that shock value is quite important when it comes to views, but please do some research to correctly explain the buildings you are exploring and their uses to educate your viewers. There have of course been some scientist who have gone overboard with experiments and research, but very very very few are as batshit crazy as you claim. I hope that the general population that is neither in a medical profession nor in the funeral industry informs themselves more and becomes more acquainted with the subject of death. For anyone who wants to learn more about death-related subjects, I recommend the channel Ask A Mortician by Caitlin Doughty.

oh yeah such as letting women give birth in full view of all the students so they can learn ahahaha, most surgeons are psychopaths bro; thats what happens when u have no empathy, u think it's all just science and become oblivious to the person inside , if they are still alive at least. 'Braindead' people are also still alive for example, I bet they also end up on the cold metal bed to be cut open for all to view and learn.

All that would have happened in the morgue would have been autopsies, lobotomies and other things done to living patients would have been done elsewhere, like an operating room. Also. that incinerator, while s it may have had amputated limbs in it, was only designed for burning bio-hazard trash, they definitely don't, nor ever did smash the bones or bodies to fit in there, a cremator for bodies will take a whole body, laying down, in a box. The bones crumble in the heat, and aren't pulverized to small bits until after the cremation. If you've ever seen the 'ashes' of a cremated person, all that really is is charred bone, everything else is pretty much vaporized by the heat.
@whiteedk7 жыл бұрын
compactc9 yes. It's sad that they say stuff like that. The autopsies in such places are done on corpses from people that have agreed to have their bodies donated to science and it's a valuable leaning tool for students. They have to learn some place, you would never let students "play" with live people when they are inexperienced
@cindytaylor80537 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I thought the same about the staging, theater, that it was only used for autopsies, for medical students. Not for lobotomies . You don't need a blood letting table for a lobotomy
@mrsdahmer87 жыл бұрын
Well, looks like everyone done took care of everything I was about to say lol I'll just reiterate, just, idk, just cuz, lol They don't do anything in the morgue other than autopsies and,stuff you do to dead bodies. They do NOT do surgeries or, medical procedures of ANY kind in a morgue. They are done in operating rooms if not in doctors offices. No LIVING patient is EVER brought into a morgue as a patient! (At least, not on purpose anyway lol 😜)
@faithinhumanity33906 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right our hospital i work for only cremates amputated limbs and some aborted or miscarried babies they do not pulverized the human body to fit in such a small confined space what they are seen is amputations or aborted babies

Retorts handle a box containing a corpse lengthwise. the fragments are then crushed further and placed into an urn for safekeeping for the family . I think what you really saw was other medical waste inside the incinerator.

I gotta agree with compactc9 on the lobotomy part. You don’t do a medical procedure on a live patient in a morgue. Look around enough and you would have found a designated area where sterile procedures were done. I agree with the incinerator as well. It was for burning medical and biological waste. Not bodies. You couldn’t even get a body into that incinerator. However, bone does not burn or incinerate. After a body has been incinerated in a crematorium bones are pulverized because they do not burn. After a body is cremated there’s ashes, bone (including teeth) and metal implants like artificial hips. Anything that can be crushed goes through what is essentially a wood chipper and into the urn. Any metal is disposed of as medical waste.
@sebastienbolduc56548 жыл бұрын
You did a great job with the commentary! It really adds so much more to your video content. As for the incinerator, are you sure it was used for human remains? It doesn't look like it could have been used for that, too small. Maybe it was used to incinerate body parts or lab animals? But if there is a possibility that what you saw were human remains, you should anonymously notify the proper authorities within the State. The abandonment of human remains is highly illegal. If they were human remains, and the facility abandoned them when it closed, then there was obviously some really fishy shit going down in that place!!! Gezzus dude, WTF were they doing to people in there?! I also like how you have compassion for those poor souls, dead or alive, that ended up in that hell hole. Your video, in a special way, gives justice to all those unknown faces.

Let's be clear: There were many good doctors who treated patients well, and followed their oaths to do no harm. There were people (and still are) who benefited from lobotomies. There were people who benefited from autopsies. Autopsy theatres have been in use since before the Catholic church put its grip on the medical and scientific world. Without the good nurses and doctors we had through the 20th century, we would not have made the advances we have now. There were many poor doctors, but many good ones as well. It's always sad that the terrible people get remembered, while the great inventors and doctors do not. :(

Great explore.... No basement in that place??? From the wiki page....... More than 15,000 known autopsies were performed at St. Elizabeths between 1884 and 1982, and a collection of over 1,400 brains preserved in formaldehyde, 5,000 photographs of brains, and 100,000 slides of brain tissue was maintained by the hospital; until the collection was transferred to a museum in 1986, according to O'Meara.[23] In addition to the mental health patients buried on the campus, several hundred American Civil War soldiers are interred at St. Elizabeths as well.

The real power of your work lies in the images you capture. You have a really fine sense of angle, light, and proportion linked to an understanding and appreciation of architecture. You do not need the Hollywood horror film sound track to give your art impact. I'm not trying to dis your work here, on the contrary, I think your work deserves the simplicity of sound that is present in many of your other offerings. The jagged scary type backing you used here actually diminishes the raw power of the visuals by distracting this viewer, and I suspect others as well. Beautiful images, thank you. 🇨🇦
