Abandoned Basal Airport

This airport in Basal, Attock is abandoned for long time. It was created during the British rules in late 19th century or early 20th century.
If you are coming from Jand, after 25km drive you reach Kisran chowk , from there a road is turning on left that takes you to this airport after 500 meters.
It was built for war related purposes. It was used for World war 2, it might have been used for world war 1 but no confirmed news on that. After the creation of Pakistan it was used very rarely during wars. Its still under PAF who uses it for free fall jumping sometime and other practices.
Now its mostly used by local people to learn driving, play cricket and other local activities. It has vast grounds, plain area, beautiful lush green fields.
Total area of this airport is more then 300 acres. Runway is over 2km in lengthy with a big taxiway.
