This happened next door to my family home- - a large 1930s home, in need of repair, was demolished and replaced by a totally overdone mansion. The man who built it got hugely in debt through multiple large loans from different banks, using the property as collateral for each one. Eventually he defaulted and the forced sale price had to be dropped repeatedly before it finally sold. Parts of the house have never been occupied!
