More and more foreigners are buying a Chateau all over Europe wanting to hold on to their heritage, or just to be able to have a retreat to relax away from the hardships of work. The rewards are twofold as the building is restored, and it adds to the tax base as a viable piece of property benefiting the community where it is located.

I completely understand giving up there houses. The money and work to keep them up is overwhelming. But they should be able to turn them over to the government or historical society to maintain and open for tours. Rather than just leaving them to rot.

Shouldn't be a hard restore for those people, just hope they don't completely modernize it like Steep Park, which was an amazing job on her part, can't save all that wood, but it just doesn't have the same feel in there.

It isn't in that bad shape, a lot of the oldness is faux painting and the woodwork looks good. All it needs is elbow grease.
