What is looks like is that at one time there were a husband and wife here. The wife left, by dying or leaving, and the man lived there up until his death. He more than likely was removed by the state for his own benefit and ended up dying in hospital. No matter what, this is one of the saddest youtube videos I have ever seen.

One man's life & work left in shambles ,it leaves me with so many questions. The music is wonderful , it really brings out the emotion on this one. Just lost my dad so maybe seeing it in a different light. Very well put together video.Let's all try to be happy while were still here?

This is a view into the life (lives) of hard working people who seemingly had no one behind to keep a very large farm going. Shows a lifetime of work and preparation for seasonal variance. Humbling, yet glorifying, and set to some brilliant music. Made me wish I had known these people. Well done!

Nice lumber stacked to dry. Bee keeping frames and extractor, the old guy was very able. But none of can win against time. I can tell a lot by looking at a man's work shop, and I like this guy, he did things well. There are a lot of old people in nursing homes, who live on and on, and refuse to sell their old homes. He may be one of them, or left unexpectedly, and never returned.

Wow, this was really thrilling to watch. I come from Norway myself so it was quite interesting to watch. I wonder where this is, it said Porsgrunn and Oslo but I'm not so sure it's from those places. Also quite creepy how this place is abandoned. Everything is left behind, laundry, the table is set with dishes and so on. Wish I knew why they abandoned such a beautiful place. Looks like it's been a farm with generations living there. Sorry for my bad english but hope I'm understandeable. Hope to see more like this!

A lonely old farmer dies. Servicemen collect his body and buried and the farm house stayed abandoned. in 20 years nobody did anything because this is not exactly their job. Now if a homeless family occupy the house, clean it and make is nice again, the authorities throw them away. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much. Some stuff there is very old and some stuff is not too old. the blue hydraulic log splitter isn't very used or very rusted at all. For some reason I was expecting to see more shoes, but perhaps they took them when they left. Glad to see old places treated with some respect versus folks that paint, smash and destroy.

l must say with your choice of music and not talking all the way through it along with some snap shots, this vedio was wonderful. Only thing missing was the smells. A climps into the life of others who are probably no longer with us. It leaves us wondering what happened to them and how every thing seen here is a reflection into their lives. I recall once as a young teen walking down some rail road tracks in the hill country of Virginia, where I was visiting just for a couple of days and never been back to sence. I came up on a old house abandon like this but it was just a house with out so many other buildings. There were no roads to the dwelling, their main source of travel was by train. Like here the house had been set free of its inhabitants long before my arrival. The most memorable thing I can recall was the bible and eye glasses left on the mantle above the fire place, a coat hanging nearby. All of this is a reminder to us, that we are simply passing through and one day we each will leave our momentoes behind for others to witness. Life here on earth is so much more than just things. It's a moment in time where the most important thing of all is how well we loved each other.

i have that exact same stove. made by the federal stove company out of chicago illinois. they went out of business in 1922. interesting that it made its way to Norway. mine is in my tiny house on wheels. it weighs 300 pounds and can only except an 11 inch piece of wood max length. the flue and ash door is missing on mine. the tractor looks like a Deutz D5006 built from 1954 to 1965 the cab over and the farmall were later additions from the 1980s. how ever that snowblower walk behind tractor was not built until the late 70's the engine is not seized up and the gas in the tank is not yet caramelized. which would age the machine in the mid to late 80's. there is a plastic bottle in there. they did not start manufacturing those plastic juice bottles until the late 80's to early 90. from what i can piece together. this was a very unassuming family that lived there. the male of the house had a wife and a teenaged boy, they also had a handy man from time to time. he out lived his wife. hard to speculate about the boy. all though the boy may have left. he married his wife in the 1950's.by the way i suspect that the man was a refuge from germany after the war. i would say that the husband and wife died of old age in the 1980's but some one kept coming back until the early 1990's. i wounder if it was the boy and soon after the boy just stopped coming back. i would say the boy is now in his 50's. thank you datapakx25 for that wonderful stroll of this farm.

Time marches on. I bet there's a great story behind that old place. Old couple living their whole life there and one dies and the other carries on till they just can't do it alone and a social worker takes them away or a friend checks on them one day and finds they have passed away. People need to leave stuff the way it was. it may not be world known history but that's someone's history and when you touch, take or even vandalize it takes away from its history. Have some respect that's some ones belongings and this isn't for the poster of the video this is for the people that don't have the respect for the amazing history someone left for you to find.

The old man died of a heart attack sitting in that yellow chair, reminiscing about his childhood & warm summer days spent on the farm with his dear departed wife.He was remembering that day of intolerable sadness when he found her dead in the very same chair.Every night since her death he would sit there by the window, whiskey in hand, alone, his shadow cast by the moonlight, embracing her as the tears flowed for the last time from his tired failing eyes.A passing cloud suddenly dimmed the moonlight as he breathed his last & was mercifully set free from the pain of memory.....His farm frozen in time, was destined to remain forever,a shrine to another passing life.....

Not Abandoned. This is very common in close rural families. They raised the children and finished out there last days in the family home. They did not end up in a lonely nursing facility. The children inherited the farm and built a more modern home on the far side of the property and left mom and dads home intact. This was a happy ending. This is very hard for city dwellers to understand. City dwellers put mom in nursing home then upon her passing inheriting money this is why they cant understand family farms. Its obvious this man filming is Trespassing.

I highly doubt this. These houses are re-used for generations, very commonly, in Norway. This looks like the main building could date from the 1800's or early 1900's. Sturdy and everlasting buildings. Also the cost of "just building a new house" is incredibly huge in this country. No way that a property like this would be able to fund it. It's just old and abandoned. It's not a mystery. Someone still owns the properly, that's for sure - but that doesn't mean they care about the old buildings.

All I can see is Pain, The pain of loosing ones Home, One persons family owned Farm that had been theirs since the 1800's.I see hope vanished. I am an American of Norwegian Descent. My Grandparents were a proud proud people. they fought tooth and nail for all they had. I believe all people were at one time proud. That our governments stolen all dignity that the working class had given to themselves thru Hard work, unions that we fought to get.Threw out with the trash we need to start fighting again. The Rich will continue to strip us of all dignity offering us Jobs of servitude. Meaningless hand outs to keep us in line. Keep us fighting amongst ourselves over race and poverty. Dangling a carrot in front of our noses. This need not be our future. There is no more to loose. we have lost all our fore fathers fought to leave for us. We gave our rights as human beings away for what to feel secure. I never felt insecure. till they took my right to bear arms, my right to a GOOD Job.My right to travel freely, My dignity. I would die today if I thought it would give others a chance for the life we lost.

That's crazy how a farm can just be up & abandoned like that w/ everything in tact & left behind like they were gonna come back in a few hours or something.

Some people went back to the countries that they or their parents came from. We've lost so many loved ones/friends and family... Missing & deceased. No one would understand unless they lived it. We have no one. The children were kidnapped in the United States and I wear the scar's from when I nearly lost my life shortly after the abduction of the children and the theft of my identity at that time. We asked the police to arrest the people living in my husband's house, but the criminals were living in the beautiful home so they must be the nice people. Wrong!!! His first wife is among the missing. It's too horrifying & mortifying. Maybe the people who were there came back to what they knew or remembered. Maybe they had children and they perished or went missing & so maybe they have the manufactured in Wisconsin USA because someone sent it to them or more likely they brought it back with them. We are finding things out that no one ever told us.. somebody should have said something... somebody should have told us.

Really loved watching this one too! So good seeing it untouched and explored like this. Thanks again for the great video! :-) Also people making comments on the dust are not realizing that when a home is closed up properly with no breeze there is far less dust accumulating like a house with broken windows and open doors.

Whoever owns this land and property has a fortune in their hands. Some of that furniture is really antique. There is thousands of dollars wasting away to nothing in the barn and house.

That was an old mill/alte muhle, you can see where the grindstone was at 16:56, i think the man was a woodworker. Looks like last time he used the tractor was during snow, clearing the driveway. Awesome find, too bad someone doesn't buy the place & clean it up. Thank you/danke for posting!

If someone could buy that property there's more than enough antiques there to pay them right back... I seen nearly around $100,000.00 easy if you sold it all off cheep... I'm sure there's more that I didn't see... The owners are setting on a small fortune. But maybe they just don't need the money...

A small fortune, you say? Hundred grand you say? I bought this last year, from some real dishonest types, wich lied about everything and really f'd me over. Since this vid were made, the ravens have picked it clean, just trash left, some of em even steal the trash :( What sort of country do you live in? I might like to do some exportin. If youre in the market for some vintage tincans full of used nails we can do business ;)

Looking at this vid i get a sense that the people that lived her were elderly and one of them passed away.Say the husband and the wife just could not handle the place on her own.or they both passed and the family took what they wanted and left the rest to rot.sadly this is all too true in society today, everything is disposable, even your grandparents. It looks like the old man was used to working the land ,hunting ,fishing ,trapping and working with his hands .In later years he /they became a bit of a horders but the older generation didn't throw away stuff that wasn't totally broken. Still sad to see the end of somebody's life work.

MrRichochet - Not sure, but the composer probably committed suicide very soon after he finished the composition. He must have lost his entire family in a plane crash, just before his house burnt down & was paralysed in a car crash. That music must have been inspired by extremely depressive events!..
