I didn't think TCCC could be applicable in airsoft, but it absolutely is. Between 2:10 and 3:50 at least 5 people got shot trying to rescue wounded without fire superiority and it could have all been avoided with some basic principles.

Underrated comment. It's very true. Then again, a lot of procedural stuff gets missed, kind of an institutional fault more than anything--airsoft doesn't brutally enforce common sense by design. Most people going to one of the generic big events aren't going to be familiar with foundational infantry skills. It's the nature of the beast at less-regimented events so long as the only requirements to go to work are the admission fee and a blaster. I'm pretty happy to see Alfonse is picking up good stuff (probably from his SOF friends) like emphasis on getting security and de-conflicting. Really rare to bump into someone on the field who realizes how useful those concepts are even when working with random people.

This is why I want to get into airsoft for both training and fun. Not everyone plays the “right way” but they don’t have to. The idea that if everyone isn’t playing like it’s real you can’t is silly. It’s silly to expect that your enemy will or should fight a certain way. You practice your SOP which includes adapting to and overcoming whatever dumb shit your enemy is doing. For example. You could have the best raid team ever. But if the opfor is just full sprinting and rushing like it’s COD then why would you challenge that? Just hold security and let them rush in to be stopped by a wall of fire. It’s great. I live it 😂 need to get an air soft rifle and pistol and adjust gear for it and get into Milsim stuff.

that’s about spot on for how it felt in person, there where different objective box’s and points, but the game was stopped early due to too many player heat casualties after the first hour and then things were changed around and moved when we started again, still had fun, it was the first time playing airsoft at this ao so a lot was learned but your description is spot on
