Hey Silas. There's something I've wanted to say to you for a while now after watching your videos. You're a very, very lucky guy for being able to spend that much time with your Dad. I didn't take that opportunity. Now I live with the regrets. I wish it had been different. My fault. Cherish what you have brother. It makes me very happy for both you and him. I'm absolutely sure he's proud as proud can be of you.

That tractor is a 1940's War Tractor. When all the tractor manufacturers were building guns and tanks for WWII. People still had to farm to eat and feed the solders at war. Farmers had to build their own tractors out of any old thing they had laying around the farm. They made due for the war years until all the manufacturing companies went back to commercial production and started building tractors again.

Hi Silas this is the guy that got the hood for the 46 Chevy,I watch your videos every morning when I eat breakfast. I enjoy watching someone doing the same thing l do and I no how annoying it is when someone says they are coming and don't show, I also have a car lot that's 1/4mile from my junkyard so it keeps me busy running back and forth . I enjoyed seeing you in person and look forward to seeing you again when I come to see my son that lives in Wichita

The GMC Semi looks like a 39. Seems savable. The Ford coupe is a 41. Similar body to my 47 Merc. And yes that 57 Fairlane has a lot of usable trim and glass parts. You are magic with a loader. Couldn't believe you got that 40 Ford Deluxe shell out without it crumbling. Anyway, another good vid. 👊😎👍

Nothing like a junk yard dog, my dad had an English bulldog that ate all the stogie butts off the ground, the more I watch you the better I like it, my dad had 10 acres of old big trucks and heavy equipment , nothing went to waste it was all recycled or sold for parts, when my dad decided to retire a Cuban refugee from Costa Rica that had a shop to rebuild trucks and equipment bought almost everything my dad had. It was about 1975 and 60,000 $ was a lot of $. Keep on junkin

I did a farm clean up back in 2008 when scrap prices were sky high. I made 2000 in one week. I have never seen a metal cased television until I did that clean up. We did everything by hand. Each load I took out on my pickup truck weighed 4200 pounds and my truck was only a half ton 89 D100 Dodge pickup. My uncle has it now.

That 41 Ford coupe would be a prime builder back east! That 55-56 Chevy truck looks good for what you find here. Silas rusty is entirely relative, and what y'all consider rusty is still a builder on the east coast. As clapped out as that 57 Fairlane is, it would still be a gasser. Bet that 40's GMC semi sells, that one is cool! Sure wish I still had my yard, we'd be looking for a transporter.

Silas has had years of experience on the loader by now. He really worked some magic getting that old hauler out. I noticed how he sat the forks down, lifted the front wheels slightly, and twisted the body so the wheels would go left far enough to help drag the hauler out by the back end. Some things they don't teach you about the loader, and you have to learn it yourself. 😁👍👍

Love your videos. My favorite is the '39-'40 semi. That gauge on the dash is actually an instrument to set the flow rate of the road asphalt dispensed per foot as the driver drove. Set the rate and drive. Pretty simple. I'm a retired truck driver. Just glad comfort features have come a long way compared to that ole girl. But i wish i was younger and had a place to do custom work. I would love to restore that ole girl to be a show truck, along with the '41 Ford. That car would make a great hot rod. Many thanks for your videos and hard work to keep these vehicles alive, one way or another. Bless you. 👍

Great job. I'm going to send a link from this video to a guy out in the west coast about that semi that you hauled in. I like the two Chevys myself I think it was a 56 and then that last one you showed we'll call it a 52. I guess I've got a cream puff because I've got one that doesn't have rust up and down in that spot. And it also has an old oil drilling rig complete on the back of it. It ran when parked haha. The 261 in it bad thing about it it didn't have a thousand miles on it after rebuilt and it's been setting for a few decades ought to be pretty fun to get it loose. Great video. That little homemade tractor you can make a little short out of it and really rake in the views I forget what they call him right now but you know what it is.👍

AT 8:53 THE 41 FORD IS A MEMORY MAKER! IN THE SUMMER OF 1955 I AQUIRED A CAR TO SCRAP! IT WAS A 1941 FORD 2 DOOR SEDAN ! THE ENGINE , TIRES, AND THE SINGLE REAR SPRING WAS ALSO MISSING! THIS MADE TOWING IMPOSSIBLE! IT WAS LAYING ON ITS SIDE , SO I TURNED IT UPSIDE DOWN AND SKIDDED IT HOME ON ITS ROOF!! IT WAS A GREAT SCORE AS WE USED THE TRANSMISSION IN MY DADS CAR , THE TRANSMISSION TO TORQUE TUBE CONNECTOR TO REPAIR A FORD SIDE MOUNTED MOWER, THE FRONT AND REAR AXLES BECAME A FARM WAGON! LATER IN 1959 THE FRONT SECTION OF THE FRAME, WAS USED IN BUILDING MY FIRST STREET ROD!

Dear Mr. Silas. 👍👌👏 Great purchases, congratulations 🎉. I totally agree, the old semi truck is the most interesting vehicle. As I saw the window cranks for the divided windshield, I instantly thought: Maaan, I would love to own such a truck. With a dump bed on it or used to haul a camper, it would even be usable. My second favourite is the old Ford coupe out of the 1940s. Third is the red running, driving and braking truck Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.

I like that fence. I had to laugh when you said old cemetery fence because I was thinking that spot looked like a cemetery. That fencing, which I can't remember the name of used to be pretty popular about 10-15 years ago. Did you have the camera last time you were out there? If not those cows were saying, "Run girls he has a camera" That orange truck would sell good in Texas. Just put a Longhorns logo on it. 😄
