Near its end of production my dad, John Hine , was owner of it all. He and a friend/co worker named tony shetroma(not sure od spelling) started those tours. I used to be allowedvtto accompany dad into the mine. And everyday we would walk 1000s of feet back to the generator room to start the generators for lights n fans and water pumps. It was alot of fun as i was maybe like 9 or 10 yrs old. Great memories. I wish you could have gotten inside the mine itself. It was really cool in there. Thanks for the rememberances...

I took the glenburn mine tour back in the early 70's with my parents! Loved it! It was a working coal mine at the time! You could pay a fee for which we did, which would take you deep in the mine while actual work was being done, they would take you down in these little yellow mine cars that had fencing around what would be the window area. Awesome memories...

I’ve always wanted to visit Shamokin, PA., this is were my Pop was born in 1911. I’ll bet ya this was the first mine he began to work in. Thanks for sharing this!

Bernie's Model Railroad Back when they started the tour which ended quick I wanted to get up and take the Tour! I was told by someone who worked there that the mine had 5 Levels and was around 5,000 feet deep.

ho bud. like ur video. my cuz says that mine goes back pritty far. then gets wet. it goes down deep and is filled with water. ir was posiibly a air shaft and a emergimcy escape. my paps dad also help build that coal sifting station that is still there
