Bert, I'm sub'd to a channel called the Hoover Boys (metal detecting) and Kurt, the guy that runs the channel always starts out an episode at the location or field where they will dig, and he always says "let's save some history". We all get caught up in the rat race and honestly it's been a while since I paused to think about what 34 men were trying to do for all the rest of us. Give us the freedom to sit here watch YT videos safely or what ever else it is that we want to do. Appreciate you saving some history and reminding us why were here.

Was your grandad a sailor on that submarine Bert? Those pictures look like they are from the Horton collection.

He was in the marines Vietnam.....these came from the last locker.

By WWII no one was taking those sorts of home photos any more, and you'd get in six kinds of trouble now. Were these old photos in a unit? Pretty sad if they were. Somebody's great-grandpa's photographs of the ship he served on and they could have ended up in a dumpster.

Very interesting. You didn't do bad at all. Saw some other pretty nice photos of the sub and crew online, not as nice condition as yours. But larger. Maybe you should do something nice and find out where you can donate them. Forget about the $ this time. Maybe others can enjoy them as much as we did.
