So sad. We spend our lives accumulating stuff and at the end of our lives it's the stuff that stays behind. What we become is usually a face in a photograph and a person down the line will say, "who's that?" Make sure your tetanus injections are up to date as this looks like it can be dangerous. Great video! Peace and blessings from Ireland 🇮🇪

Wow! Some people save everything, even the garbage. Hard to imagine they lived in the midst of this rubble. I can't help but think people go through these homes and make a mess as they search for valuables and money. Whoever lived here had a thing for calendars & clocks. Would have been interesting to see the dates on the calendars and the newspapers. Saw an old wringer wash machine in that back porch or room...whatever that area was. I would have had to leave when the bat showed up! I get itchy fingers when I see something like this...would love to start cleaning it up and taking the garbage to the burn pile. LOL. Some for taxes due and the one I live in now for a very low price, people moved several states away and I found them through a little research, made a small down payment wrote out a contract and now I am almost payed up.. I have sold the other 2 area's (they were in town, but I live there for 16 yrs).. a bunch of cleaning and repairs on the cheap through "outlet warehouses" ...... but I never did come across any treasures inside these homes, but I did make a home for others and myself...

This was fun and thought provoking. Started as a collector, clocks especially. Into music, record players and radios and tape players. A lot of LPs. I've heard that hoarding often starts when someone close, like a spouse, dies. Could tell, kitchen was where the owner spent most of their time. It had a path to the door. And a television, of course. Amazing that wood burning stove had still been in use, I didn't see a modern cooker. Loved the clothes washer on on the porch. What was the appliance next to it? A refrigerator, maybe. Couldn't see a useable bed, but the place did look ransacked. Wonderful location! Thanks for including us on the adventure!

This is a salvage rights of abandoned property GOLDMINE. That Victor box phone is worth $2,000 alone, very vintage. I'd spend a lot of time there with big plastic storage bins, fill em up and market a lot of that stuff. Even the LP records would be worth something to someone if restored or playable. Just from what I've seen here, a possible worth of approx 9,000 to 10,000 worth of goods maybe even more... God know knows what would be in any of those boxes. There could hoarded money or coins hidden in a box you just don't know till you look.

Loved the elephant at the doorstep. I am sure someone has cherry picked that place since there is really nothing of value left and almost no china, jelly glasses nor enameled pans or cast iron. These are all items of value for resell. It also looks like the best clocks were removed because there are shadows on the walls. The item on the table with the funnel top, box below and accordion attached is a bee smoker so someone had bee houses. All of the furniture but especial the 1930's painted stuff is valuable, so are the mid-century pieces in todays market. The wood stove is fabulous. One of the few small cook stoves I have ever seen. Oh wow so many things were gone! I noticed in the last few mins around the outhouse that there was a black dog and that just beyond the woods was a man. He stepped behind the trees so its just a sec. and the dog took off right after you glanced that way. Now the vanities there were 2 of them are old. Oh and the glass cabinet where you picked up the snow globe is gone So many things were taken. I think that the family didn't care about some of the things and just took what they wanted at the time. Here in America you can go to jail for taking even small things. I knew a man that took a rocking chair from a old run down house and as he was walking out they arrested him. This was in the 70s. Oh and its at 24:23 that the dog is there and at 24:31 you see the man and at 24:34 he steps back behind the tree.

sometimes the wife or husband dies and the remaining partner cannot bear to live in what was the family home. Everything ends. So many people cannot cope with an abrupt ending. So they leave it all behind and move to the spare room in someone’s house. It’s very sad and the battlers of Australia end up. Many can’t even afford a half decent funeral.
