Thank you for another great tour Brent! Lovely old home that looks like it could be cleaned out & fixed up, and then house a lovely & caring family! So sad! I believe you're correct, they probably carried several items inside from the yard, attempting to improve "appearances". Perhaps the renter just "wheeled & dealed" and "traded or sold" items from his home... Whatever, it makes me sad😢 Thanks for your hard work and dedication in providing the very best in Exploring the abandoned homes & properties❤ You made me laugh when you said, "how am I going to get over tgere into that other room?".... Then, "guess I'll have to climb over"..... You were so cute!😂 Oh Brent, I'm a silly old lady. Momma of 4 sons, one step son, and one grandson. You're like my boys. Never fail to bring me joy! Appreciate seeing so many places in Canada!!! You have a lovely country❤ I spent a week in Quebec in a one room log cabin on a lake, only accessible by boat in summer and atv or snowmobile in winter; what they call now, "off the grid" I believe. Totally fell in love with everything about it. That was in June 1971. Sadly, I was never able to return. Thank you for the joy you bring to so many of us "oldies"❤

Brent, that was an awsome find. The house looks to be late 40s or 1950s build judging by the door knobs and doors and heat ducts , window trim. It looks like someone was going to do some more upgrades to the home at one time. 👍🤠

Yes, those large heat ducts were used in the old convection coal or gas furnaces. I’d guess 30’s or 40’s at the latest.

@RetroCaptain9 ай бұрын
TV was colour, and from pretty much 1986 or after as the screens were rounded before that and pretty much only b&w. Colour portables in 1985 were really expensive. Those sets didn't last like the full size ones.

@@RetroCaptain Yeah I figured mid 80s on that!, I remember seeing those in the stores and like you said most were B&W and were kind of pricey!
@RetroCaptain9 ай бұрын
@@jdpinbaytown If you factor in how long they lasted vs the cost, (& how it was only a vacation set) they weren't worth it. The b&w ones sold a lot more but again they didn't last long. That colour one is a bit collectible for sure.

Vintage and somewhat current electronics. If the last occupant moved in 2018, that means he must've packed that basement back to front! Not all, but a LOT of those computers and the home audio & video equipment was outdated when he moved in! I've never seen a somewhat organized electronics hoarder like this..great content once again! I wouldn't suspect he was an electronics repair guy or electrician because the home was free and clear of ANY tools, wires or spare parts. Just an enthusiast I'm pretty certain, (I'm a home theater installer).. in fact, not even any loose cables? 🤔

Thanks for the tour. Hoarding is quite often a symptom of a Mental Health Disorder. I hope that the person that lived in that home and was evicted is safe where ever they are. I'm guessing that the house was abanded by the owner because they were unable to get fire insurance until the place was cleared out. It would be terrible if in the event of a fire a firefighter got injured/killed while searching for people in the house. Inaddition there maybe items in the house that could explode, cause toxic fumes etc.

I explored a house similar to this last year. I passed by it hundreds of times to visit my uncle who lives on the same road. Finally, my curiosity got the better of me. The house was stockpiled full of stuff. One room wasn't even accessible because there was so much stuff inside. There was a very narrow pathway in another room that allowed me to explore the rest of the house. I don't think this place was a case of hoarding but a case of storage. From my understanding, the owner lives overseas in Japan. There was even a garage with some really neat farm equipment. It's such a shame, really, because it's an old ornate farmhouse that's falling to pieces.
