"Abandoned and forgotten" is such a sad phrase. 😥 The 70's aren't THAT old! I was in high school then. Still that's a long time for a house to be alone with no family to love it. 💔

This makes me feel sad, because my husband that I was married to for 43 years, just died in his sleep, suddenly, but I heard him die, and that sound always haunts me, but I understand the sadness the old man must have gone through, because I feel it so often, he was the love of my life.

That fireplace suround at 27:00 is Art Deco, most likely installed in the early 1920's. I found nothing small or humble about this house or property, six bedrooms, four of them quite large, four reception rooms, kitchen, pantry, mudroom. And the outbuildings! Wow someone had piles of money to set that farm up😄Loved it!

The man had lived there all his life is what I got from the intro. He most likely inherited it from them and maybe he had children of his own maybe he didn't. But so sad all the same.

That's just such a beautiful place. You know, men have a harder time with the death of their wives than women have with their husband's. I lost my husband and I could literally feel my heart breaking. It's painful. Literally painful. The difference is that women can handle emotional situations better than men can. Men are usually busier with the weight of the world on their shoulders. They support their family, build homes, work on keeping up vehicles, home repairs, earning money to feed their family, etc. Women (generally) take care of him, their children, cooking, etc. I'm speaking of traditional families. Women can carry on a little easier than men can and his wife's or significant others death devastates a man because his whole life just stops. I'm not saying men aren't emotional because my husband was, and he felt deeply whichnis what made me love him so much. I miss him every day, I dream about him almost every night. It's been since 2016.

That hand tool is used to pierce/tag the cows/steers ears. Since that was the only bed, probably was his wife's bedroom. Mattress propped up, difficulties breathing laying flat on back. So many closed up fireplaces. True shame the floors were giving out. Wonder if there was a cellar, don't remember you showing the stairs. Thx for the explore.

I'd guess the mattress was angled up for health reasons such as acid reflux or congestive heart or lung problems. The door over the stairwell looks like it was a way to keep heat contained downstairs. I have a 4x8 laminated board i use to close off two drafty rooms in my old house. Unfortunately that includes the front door🤔

Hi Adam, this was a touching story of the couple in Scotland, who eventually both died! Looks like someone took some of the furniture & left some, unless vandalism took some of furniture in other rooms! The Town should look for the remainder of the family & ask if they want the belongings left behind! Beautiful outside of this house, & how close it was below of the sea, but needs work inside, but loved the large rugs in 2 rooms! Thanks so much for sharing this abandoned house with all of us & the story of the couple! Take care & stay safe Love & God Bless you both, from Central Illinois USA😉🥰
