We use the abandoned John Deere MX10 to mow the off-grid property. Huge difference in a 10' cut and an 8' one. It was a little awkward in tighter spots but made up for it in the quality of cut and fewer passes overall. We absolutely love that old Interantional 1086 with the air-conditioned cab! So much power and so comfortable, it's an awesome combination mixing red with green. Have a great day and be safe!

Thanks for watching and your comment. We sure love that old red tractor. That’s the first big tractor we have owned. The first big tractor I drove was an International that Maggie’s dad owned. Our tractor is semi retired and living it’s best life… lol We are very blessed to have it. Thanks again, have a great day and be safe!

Listen, your wife/ partner seems like a nice lady and you probably don’t want to get rid off her but you really should understand that that old machine can fling a stone or bit of wood with enough force to put it straight through her, it really is sorta stupid to let her or anyone else walk along behind it especially in roughish ground, I know you are pretty inexperienced with machinery but just think a bit about what you are actually doing. Keep your revs at 540 pto speed and adjust your speed with the gears you will do a lot better job. It’s great to see a guy using this old gear and getting the job done but be careful or as you say be safe. I like your channel and rarely comment on the web but you are obviously new to this kind of stuff & I don’t know how to explain what I mean without sounding rude but I hope you realise I don’t mean to be harsh.

I have a MX 8 that I am very impressed with, and that MX 10 seems to do just as well. I do have stop blocks to keep height to a set level hyd. may leak down over time and just to make it easier to raise and return to cutting to desired height. By the way good job on the other video with the couch commando not having all that plastic make greasing so much easier as well.

10' buffer between water and land and no straight access to the water angle and double back, no run off into the water. Your buffer is in the water, Cattails have an amazing ability to absorb phosphorus, nitrogen and other elements that may harm natural water bodies and sediment beds.

Buffer zones (sometimes called no mow zones) prevent erosion and runoff. Farmland next to a pond. Nice overhead shot of Alge and weed growth along the shore. Surface runoff is the unconfined flow of water over the ground surface. When rain falls onto the landscape, it doesn't just sit there and wait to be evaporated. most of it flows as surface runoff. agricultural runoff is the leading cause of water quality impacts.
